Lavender Blue Husbands Bosworth

Hello,

I’m hoping someone can help me out with photographs and memories of the Lavender Blue cafe on the old A50 at Husbands Bosworth. Before the A14 opened the A427 through the village was very busy and many lorries would turn off by The Bell pub and head north a mile to the cafe.

During the 70’s it was run by our family friends Harry and Marj Turner, and their son, Andrew, was one of my best mates. I spent loads of time there and both my brother and sister worked either on the fuel pumps or in the cafe at weekends.

I now research a lot of local social history and I’m sure many people would be interested in any memories you may have.

i used to use the LB in the early '80s hilldodger.i worked down the road at Carryfast  sadly have no photo’s though.

What Carryfast Depot was that then? I worked at “Lewes” before they were taken over by the men in brown

North Kilworth…i was there for 6 years +,until the depot closed down.a sad day :frowning:

I went there a few times, must have been late 70’s and 80’s, again can’t really tell you anything about it.

Lovely house now, nice site.
