Aidey, what is your point?
You all complain about Roger spoiling a thread then end up with constant snipes on the very same thread you complain about.
You can block Roger, you can block me, but please don’t spoil another thread.

I know we can and it was a similar subject, but it still spoils good threads, probably the reason some of the “names” didn’t post their memories.
I don’t ever recall meeting Roger Hayward but I knew his name long before Trucknet, I have mentioned blokes I did meet, some are still around, many have gone. How I wish we could have had more stories on those great days. I am not too old that I am senile but I don’t have the recall of Roger, Laurence, Hughie or Dave Mackie.
Yeah ur right wheelnut my apoligies

Hullo Roger,
What a shower of ■■■■■ you have attracted on here
Just ignore it all. You know what trips you did, those of us that have met up with you during those years also know what trips you did. Just because you have’nt recorded every klik you ran, does it matter ? We all know that you ran a very very tidy F12, and so it should have been with your mechanical experience, and that you worked for probably the best Company doing the job at the time. You were fortunate and made the most of it. It was most certainly better than working for Cantrells Raiders or Lew and Nigel ( Sorry Rick
Sorry Lawrence too, I was working from the Farm too with Don Alexander
) The pillocks that you are allowing to antagonise you were not even born at that time. They are just looking for stories to feed their appetite and imagination. Walk away from it, let it go. We’ve just seen George off, don’t you be the next. Apart from that I can’t afford the diesel to get down to Kent.
Cheers, Archie.

LaurenceA great start to the story again. I am sat here rooted to the spot for the next painful installment. I am still on the same pills but I don’t recall a blonde bird.
Flucloxacillin
500mg Paracetamol
Water SoftenersThey make me ■■■■ like a station horse and it is more painful each time
Thanks. TRUCK Mags like features of Trucks cos truck manufacturers pay for advertising. Truck drivers like features of blondes, brunettes or whatever female falls before their eyes. A blonde fell before mine! That is the story. The published TRUCK piece is there on site too if you just want to read about trucks.

I will just point out, This is why people wont post there memoirs on here you get a guy who has done as much as most or more who knows ? but more to the point who cares ? his stories were and are still entertaining and is one of the few to have his stories recorded for the future in print. I personally enjoy reading his thread and hope to carry on enjoying. If he comes back on here ?
This is why I dont put my memories from trips on here.you will always get someone telling you it was 2.5 miles further than you said, and the sand was not as sandy as they remember it in that exact spot in the desert.Keep it up Laurence !!
Kenny.
Kenny, I certainly will. You put your own stories on here as much as you like. For those that challenge your authenticity just ask to see their contribution, if any!!! This forum is to entertain, inform and that is exactly what the vast majority do.
Ignore the tiny minority who talk a lot but do not do a lot.
Good luck mate.

This is why I just post my opinion and very rarely retaliate to comments ! It can be very Clique on here, I will use a quote that I read somewhere many Years ago (may not be entirely accurate as age is not helping) “you can tell on the ferry who the true Middle East guys are as they are sat quitely in the corner not getting involved in the diesel fumes spewing out from wannabies and bull****s” **let me make it clear I am not saying this applies to anyone on here as we all had good times and really bad times on the run some adapted better than others to circumstances, I think is a fair statement to make ?**I have met more than a few of the names on here, but as being a bit of a loner on the road I doubt they will remember me as I wont have made an impact with them as I preferred to keep myself to myself.
Look forward to your stories and wish I was articulate enough to put my own on as we all have tales to tell
Regards
Kenny
Hi Sgt. Major,
You say you are not articulate enough to post your memories/stories etc Well personally I can’t see anything wrong with any views you have expressed on here, you have put across your points very clearly. There are a lot on here like myself that never did M.E. that would be very interested to here of your trips/experiences, it hasn’t got to be Shakespeare has it, just tell it the way it was & there is the story, who cares what people think, as long as you know it’s true that’s all that matters!
Regards Chris
It doesn’t have to be a novel, just a few memories and funny stories kenny. Photographs are always good as there is a story in them anyway and the thread grows from that.
If anyone writes a diary or a story, the ■■■■■■■■ will show through, if there is any, it makes the thread better
If someone tells me they caught a ferry from Rouen to Plovdiv as was once tried I will be the first to take the ■■■■

true malc true get rog to post some stories up too no doubt he has loads to tell.and hopefully mushroomman will start posting up some more stories and photos
Enjoyed the post, but not the bickering, who cares who has done the most, as its the stories that count from this long past era even better if theres photos, we should be encouraging posts like Laurances, and not putting them down,or maybe i have no say as i only did about 15 trips to the Middle East.
Klunk.

KennyKenny, don’t put yourself down mate. If you want to put a story together why not give it a go? Nobody on here who does so is submitting there stuff to a mag editor or taking a GCE (do they still have them?) exam.
This is all about entertainment, looking at times gone by, what life was like in those days. How you put your own stories across is up to you.
Good luck in your efforts and remember please, none of us on here are, or should be, critics. What is a critic anyway?
Bit of a shocker on http://www.laurencekiely.co.uk
Went on line yesterday. Back to Kuwait in 1991. That’s the first part which mag did not want. Bloody cheek!
Best wishes
Laurence

Hullo Dreva,
Bugger you’ve caught me out
Fact is I sold The place in Cascais last year, and I fly when we go over to Sao Paulo.
So I am saving on the diesel now. We,re off again in four weeks time, back in May, so perhaps I can save up for a few more litres
Mind you I hope it takes a long time, if it’s to be used to go down to another funeral.
Cheers, Archie.
