Hay all, Got an interview next week with a laundry company. based working out of cheltenham. Has anyone worked collecting laundry ? if so whats it like ? do did you find it ? there saying a 3 month trail with chance of being taken on full time at the end of the 12 weeks. all class two work I think and ten pound an hour. any feed back would be good. many thanks all
When you start, you’ll begin with a ‘clean sheet’
When you finish, you can ‘throw in the towel’
Boom tish
I did a few days of this with the agency. I wouldnt be in a hurry to go back to it.Be very careful of your personal hygiene, wear gloves etc. I was collecting clothing from slaughter houses and replacing roller towels in works toilets and picking up floor mats from offices and car show rooms.
its working throw an agency. Not sure of the details. just hope there an alrite bunch to work with. woundering if thay will drop everyone after the 3 month trail. I heard agencys can do that after the 12 weeks is up. its pritty good money if think. should take 400 to 500. no weekends. But there is a training week befor starting and I have not hurd if this is payed or u have to do this bit for free…?

Well throw a question back to the agency and ask the details.

You may only get 1 days work, and there’s deffinately no guarantee you get 3 months, it’s basically zero hours working, as it’s not up to the agency to decide what the client should do, as they just supply the bums o. Seats that the laundry Co need for any particular day. If Joe blogs don’t want a towel that day they won’t send a van/truck out & you may end up sat at home waiting for the phone to ring.

I doubt you’ll be on 500 PW maybe 2/3rds of that if you get a tail wind behind you.
Please remember the golden rule:
Nobody, and I repeat nobody works for free. Not even for an induction / training / familiarisation. If your asked to attend site for the above or anything else, agree that you will be paid £’s per hour/day (min 8hrs). Agree that you’ll start said training at whatever time & you must be paid from that point
No pay… No go to the job site.
As above, dont work for nothing. We are vocational workers not hobbyists. If you work for free this week they will want you or some one else to work for free next week.

Depends on your customer type really.
Large hotels or hospitals will be cage work…all the cages will be fitted with the mandatory “dodgy wheel” of course, and as an added bonus, some cages will have doors that spring open as you push it over a puddle
If you do do small restaurants/B&B’s,your BMI will reduce quite quickly,as narrow steep stairs become your constant companion
If you do care homes, the aroma of stale pee and ■■■ will constantly remind you of how you may end up in a few years time
Not a bad job really,though
Anyone done the clinical waste bins? I bet that does smell!
On a side note, I know a bloke who works as a mechanic at a Peugeot main dealer. A local undertaker had brought in their “private ambulance” for some work and he had to get in the back where they keep the body’s to check something
. Obviously it was empty but not a job I’d fancy.

A lot of years ago I did a bit for I believe the White Rose company and did clinical waste and as far as I can remember it did not smell, sealed bins but never enquired too much as to what they contained.
