Now I apologies in advance if this seems a simple question but I’m new to the game, so go easy.
Last week I work mon-fri,
I used 1x 10hr drive and 2x 15hr working.
I then took a 45hr break on the friday.
I started work on the sunday of last week(yesterday)
I used 1x9hr drive and 1x15hr work.
I finished at 3am this morning(monday).
I’m now currently on my 9hr reduced rest and due to start back a 12 midday.
My question is this, is that 15hr work period and reduced rest, THIS weeks allocation? (Mon 17th) even tho it started in last week.
I’m assuming because of my 45hr break from friday to sunday of last week that it is this weeks allocation.
Ta much and I’m sorry if it’s so simple I cannot see it.

Hi.
You’ll maybe find it easier to work things out if you stop thinking in regular calendar weeks.
Your working “week,” for most purposes, is calculated between two weekly rest periods, so following a weekly rest, which can be regular (45 hrs) or reduced (at least 24 hrs) and which can be taken on any day(s) of the week, you reset most of your available time.
Some things however, are regulated by the “fixed week” , which is effectively midnight Sunday to the same time seven days hence. Principally your 10 hr driving concession. You can only do two of those in a fixed week, so, for example, if you worked Mon to Thurs and used two 10s, took a weekly rest and went back to work on Saturday, you can’t do another 10 until after midnight the following Sunday.
The other important mindset you need to get into, is to stop thinking of working days as midnight to midnight.
Your working day is the 24 hr period from when you commence duty, following either a weekly or daily rest.
There’s a shed load more to it than that, but these are the bare bones of it and hopefully be enough to keep you out of bother.
