I got in here (Titan Thurrock) and parked up 3 minutes over 15 hours. Had one of those days and was very much looking forward to some shut eye. Geezer on the gate old me to go right down the bottom. I poodle down there and since I’m unit only, select a nice spot between two trailers and nose in.
Tacho on rest, start eating dinner… A driver pops up out of nowhere
“You’re not parking here are you?”
“Yeah mate, just shut down”
“Well we’ve got one coming in this gap in a minute”
“Err, not with me in it, no”
So… Plenty of space nearby, fella arrives about 10 minutes later to find “his” spot occupied by me (no signs present to say that it’s anything but another bay in Titan)
Does he just pop his trailer in to another nearby gap? No, he summons a man in yellow jacket. I explain I didn’t know that the bays were reserved, since they are not marked. He says that I’m stupid for not knowing since there are other trailers belonging to this particular outfit either side, and I need to calm down, because this is private property (I was completely calm!)
Then, he says:
“I know for a fact that you can do small shunts and not upset your break”
I told him that was utter bullocks and the soonest I’d be moving, was 8am.
Do we seriously have to endure this rubbish in “Truck stops” now as well? I said I was sorry and that I wouldn’t park where I did again but the way everyone reacted really stinks. What a collection of bell ends… Did they honestly expect me to go from 3 minutes to 25 minutes over hours just so they could have this spot?!
Serves you right for going anywhere near London, they are all gobby ■■■■■
I personally think London should be nuked and we should start over. Build every property with a driveway, ban parking on the roads and have a little underground network for the cyclists. Any found above ground can be considered sport.
I don’t actually condone killing people. Also can’t believe I feel I have to justify a joke. Sad times
Thinks a call to Titan in the morning is in order to get both sides of the story - not taking sides but if it wasnt marked and you werent told then its ther issue not yours- will let you know what Titan say

What’s the point? One of them works for Titan, so is unlikely to admit to any wrongdoing!
Plus I’m not asking anyone else to stop using Titan, just saying I won’t use them any more…
The only marking on this bay is “350”, as it’s numbered, like all the bays.
i used to use titan quite often when i was working for a mid sized local haulier,i always thought the gateman was a ■■■■…but otherwise found it agreeable(especially the food).
i once visited when on for stobarts, and was told it was full, when it obviously was`nt
Was forced to park in there once as I ran out of hours with a high value load. Reminded my why I normally refuse to pay for parking. Its a dump. A noisy dump. Give me a layby or industrial estate any day
Or you could have parked around the back next to the sea wall. Lovely cafe and quiet its a very well kept quiet secret. Just turn left after the gatehouse travel 100yds, bear left and immediately right around the perimeter of the building, over a couple of speed humps and you,ll see all the Paddys and Elddis wagons parked.
