Worked out of Alcester and Corby depots for 12 years and last night due to the depot closing it was my last shift at Corby
Will now be working from the new depot in Lutterworth for stobarts as before.Will miss working out of both depots especially Alcester,good lads at both depots.If anyone is intetested there are vacancies at Lutterworth.
I worked there when it was Blakes.

Blakes was one of the best jobs I had at Alcester and also on Blakes continental at Loxley.
Cracking job(even though you had to race around like a lunatic sometimes) good work mates and brilliant trucks.
RIP Alcester,I learnt so much there!

I’ve dont nearly 17yrs out of Corby Depot the best year’s were Corby Chilled then it started to go down hill & over the past 2-3yrs its sailed down. I do my last night shift Sunday OR do I nobody is saying anything.
When i started we still had E10’S and EC14’s,all noise and no power espicially noticable when pulling out of Yeo Valley at Blagdon farm when it was raining.
Had MAN F90’s and F2000’s when on the Continental.
my mrs uncle used to work there when it was blakes …cliff bacciocchi …sadly my mrs cousin lost his life at alcester when it was innovate (neill bacciocchi)…i used to work for langdons at redditch then went to stobarts …and when we first took over alcester and corby i was put into them tramping out of them for 6 months …good set of lads at both depots …the ones that dont move to lutterworth …i wish you all the best and hope you get sorted …lmao and the ones that are going on to walking floors …ya gits i could of got on it if it wasnt for you lot lol …only joking …all the best to all from both depots…heard a rumour one of the big fridge companies are having alcester dont knowif its true

i thought it was common knowledge and had been for a while arfa,the idea i guess in not telling you directly is while youve got some hope it will stay open longer youll continue to turn up,keep working[dont mean you],but lots would look at sunny weather this w/end and not bother attending.

Sadly Alcester closed yesterday, worked many years their from Blakes to Stobart, as someone as scratched on the entrance signs, R.I.P, looks very depressing with a trailer parked across the entrance but this being Stobart advertising to the last.

Sadly Corby closed at the same time, I was told over the phone at 13.30 that the depot had closed. NO SENIOR management about, no information pack only a sheet of paper with phone numbers on & no union rep. They haven’t thought this out at all why close the 2 depots straight away they should have kept them open while any teething problems got sorted out. If things go wrong it could cost them more than all the redundancies put together.

i think they wish theyd done things in the correct way now arfa and done things the way you said earlier,not going well at all,very sad really,really does make you think what were they thinking,never mind using corby for storage,id get the place back open on the double quick before any more damage is caused

yes same feelings as you arfa,worked for the 3 companies as you,shocked by things i was told today to be honest,not sure where this is all going to end up to be honest,why they dont bite the bullet and get a+c back open is beyond me,i can only think of stubborness
