Laptop - in cab use

hi , just wondering if my 300watt inverter will be ok to run my laptop from , do they drain the batterys down quick ?.. just getting new scania and a bit wary of running it ,

my old 4 series scania got a bit scorched about the dash last year but that was with nowt plugged in , seemed to be a fault with the heater but did not half give me a fright how quick it took hold…

just want to be sure after the cab fire incident , regards and a happy xmas and new year troops.

i use a 300w invertor to power my laptop without any problems

some evenings i have had them plugged in when ignition turned off for couple hours and had no problems starting the next day
but where possible i use them to charge my laptop during day when engine running and then only use on a night when needed to

and i have used them on 4series 09 plate scanias where i work now

hope that helps mate

hi
i ran a 600watt invertor to power mine for over 2 years never a problem until the batteries were 3 years old and then they started to fail -
once i had new ones it was back to normal
the actual power a laptop uses is small - i would defo make sure you use a genuine Hella plug and not a cheap copy - genuine are good to 16 amps
i went through loads of the cheap copies - and once i used genuine i still have the same plug 2 years later
still used on the occasions i need it and still going strong
cheers
Steve

thanks guys no probs, happy new year to you all , and have a safe one…
