Hi all just thought I will put an update about the job I started 2 weeks ago and to let you know that if you are looking for a job, then don’t go to work for langdon transport. I started wed finished 11pm thurs 11pm and the fri 8.30. The week after went out sunday lunchtime and basically you are just chasing your tail. I was even told to hurry up one day and said I can only go as fast as this awful RENAULT AUTO. Anyway for the 3days I took £242 and that’s with 2 nites out so I will wait and see what I get for the full week with a sunday and 5 nites out. At least I can say the work is varied but what they do is not great. Its a shock to the system after 5 months out of work loading up a full trailer of tyres(HEART ATTACK). There must be something better out there soon. Been to scotland twice so that wasn’t bad but just trying to stay sane and don’t jack it in until a better job comes along. Anyway stay safe out there people.

Yeah I remember the thread and you were warned, just hope something better comes along, it’s not even good money is it .
Not to be confused with Langdons that have good trunks, just a lousy attitude towards agencies!

did you just have a plank to load the tyres ,i used to have to tip a tri full of new truck tyres[including super singles] then reload it [handball] with truck tyres to be remoulded,had to wheel the top load up the plank ,zb hard graft,half way down tri you were on your knees,had them over balance at top of blank,come down and flatten me,same as tipping them,youd pull one off top row and three/four would come down with it ,dont know what h+s would make of it these days,if im remembering right it was tip 200 truck tyres and then reload 200,and were you zb up to the eye balls or what 
,you did get a bit of a knack after a while but still hard graft

I dont think thats the same firm. There are a Langdon Transport who the OP works for and the similar “Langdons”.

Correct, Langdon Transport is the general haulage company from Lee Mill near Plymouth. Not the same Langdons who do chilled.

Well, the PE office staff when I went in there on a trunk still looked at me like I was ■■■■ on their shoe, so I’d have to say yes. 
They’ve since been taken over by nobbies (PE was a TDG warehouse). Same old staff in the office though!
I’ve not worked there since last year though, having stopped outright. Fed up with having my shifts clipped, minimized to start with, and systemically fiddled out of my expenses, although that latter point was more the agency rather than the client. How do you think I found out that ‘Salary Sacrifice’ is bent, and merely an attempt to con the taxman at employee liability if it gets pulled up on?
