I thought we could use lane 3 on a 4 lane motorway. Am i reading it wrong?

Yes you are.
We can NOT use only the ‘right hand most lane’ on a motorway with 3 or MORE lanes, but you can use all lanes if its only go 2 lanes.

As long as you don’t go into the outermost lane then no worries.

That’s the way i’ve always thought it was. Three lanes, we can use 2, four lanes we can use 3. The link looks like we can’t any longer. two lanes only, no matter how many there are.
I use 3rd lane if there is a 4th lane. Also used 3rd lane when two slow wagons in lane 1 and 2.
Well, I’ve just realised i read it wrong. Nothing has changed, Nothing to see. Carry on as normal.

I can’t see that is any different from what we have always had.

i.e. The (singular) righthand land of a Motorway with 3,4 or more lanes must not be used (by HGVs, trailers etc). Where does it say “You can only use Lanes 1 & 2”?
No change there. Use the first three of four, the first two of three. Hasn’t it always been like this?
