LB out and about at the NEC.

So Lance how many 750’s have you ordered ■■?

More like how many DAF pork rolls

The last 750 I owned was a 2 stroke triple, which you rode back from Blackburn. That turned into a legend i wonder if these FH750’s will? Got some pictures of it somewhere.

Ha Ha Lance I remember that bike bringing it home in the wet, sideways most of the time. I bought the GPZ900R off the same guy. whatever happened to the bike ? looking forward to seeing the pictures of it. How many years ago was that ■■?

Hi all,
Stranded’s need air horns to make them go up hill
Regards andrew.
P.s. mr bagot,you should receive some truck dvd’s soon…

Thanks Andrew will let you know when they arrive :sunglasses:

These are the only pictures I can find Ian of the Kawasaki 750 triple.

Right lets get back to normality - trucks.

I remember them having the Commer, Atkinson and of course the MAN’s but don’t remember the F86 Volvo, shows how funny it is that you remember some things and forget others :unamused:

The Holmes wagons I remember when the Gardener Brothers had it were eight 4 wheel Commers, one L.A.D. Comet, one L.A.D. Dodge, one BMC Threepenny bit (Tim’s truck), one TK Bedford, one Ergo Leyland Comet, one six wheeler Commer 2 stroke, 2 Guys one 6 wheeler one 8 wheeler (invincible model), two D series 6 wheeled tippers, Scania 80, Scania 81, Scania 110, Scania 140, a Foden tractor unit with 12 inch headlights, a Seddon tractor unit, an Atkinson Borderer, a Seddon Atkinson 200 series, one VolvoF86, one Rootes Commer, Romans and numerous M.A.N.s.

Sticking with the cattle wagon thread. This is me and Edmund Brewer loading at Forfar one Saturday morning for the famous Arthur Pooley. Arthur would say “could you just nip to Forfar or just pop down to Tiverton!”
THG 403V had a 240 ■■■■■■■■ Fuller box and Group back axle, and did 67 mph flat out. The 401 was an ex-demo, 290 ■■■■■■■■ Fuller box, Rockwell axle and would do a good 75mph, not that we did.

sayley-boy:
Is this LB,s new project as hinted on friday night upon my return !

This Scania 141 isn’t Lance Biscomb’s, it belongs to Law Exports and is there for restoration by North West Commercials, nothing to do with Lance Biscomb

Hi Lance,
Thanks very much for the W.H. Holmes and Arthur Pooley photographs.
To return the gesture , here`s one of your Volvo F 12 , taken a couple of years ago,
at Fleetwood Transport Day. Apologies for the poor quality.

Cheers, cattle wagon man.

Lance Biscomb:
Another project waiting in the yard.

This isn’t one of your projects, it also belongs to Law Exports, would you care to explain why your implying that you own this vehicle?

I have no interest in this vehicle and it is certainly not my next project. If you notice the previous comment was not made by me it was made by sayley boy who noticed the vehicle in my yard.

That’s fair enough, just wanted to make sure that there was no confusion about the owner

How many scania 143 450’s have you owned? Pictures speak louder than words.

Accusations unfounded about the Scania 141 parked in LB,s yard by Ian. I put it on the site with seeing it in LB,s no harm meant and nobody needs to throw the dummy out of the pram !

Nice one Lance , in fact how many Scania 143 450’s have you owned 17 ■■

I got it wrong I think it is only 15, plus one 143 470

Sorry about the picture quality but it is the only one I have of Billy Pennington’s ERF. Hope you like this one Roy! More of Arthur Pooley’s to follow.

Hi Lance,
I cant quite remember the E.R.F. Chinese 6 of Bill Penningtons , I remember his later Commers better.
By the smart streamlined appearance, did Chris Catteral own the E.R.F. earlier ?

Here is one of a few W.H. Holmes `s nostalgic photographs, kindly given to me by Bill Gibson.

Cheers, cattle wagon man.

Hi Lance,
Is this the Scania 140 you talked about ■■

Cheers, cattle wagon man.

Yes, it is . I can remember sitting in this wagon on Joe Lane reading a sticker on the dashboard saying that this wagon cost £8000, please treat it with respect. Harold Baines was the driver of this wagon I don’t know if it is the Harold Baines from Fleetwood. This is the first 140 scania i ever saw it must have been an early one with the headlights in the bumper. The trailer was also new and was double decked for cattle. The front compartment of the trailer was a diesel tank as the 140 only had small tanks. The other thing I remember is the tyres were not suitable for the weight it was pulling as there were regular blow outs. I think the wagon was in an accident on the M6 at Preston but not sure. Holmes didn’t have this wagon for long and was replaced by a MAN.
