No, this was an ex Salford van on hire to Smurfitts. (Look at Tamworth Hauliers) Ian did sell the bull bar to one of Mervyn Appleby’s drivers. He did a swap on the services bull bar for bumper. This wagon was traded in for a Volvo F12 from Manchester truck and Bus.
Two F88,s LB bought from Air Products at Carrington nr Manchester he was going to put them on the road but sold them to Gordon Bagot (RIP) from Ribchester before he had chance.

Both on Sam Wallings low loader
The Iveco salesman brought round the new Iveco Hi-way 460hp to give LB and myself a test drive since we missed out at Lymm.
My crystal ball tells me that 40 years from now we will be remembering the Iveco Hiway in the same terms that we think of the Bedford TM- Under-rated & better than most people thought.
Any comments, Lance?
Here are a couple of photo’s of a FH 12 Volvo LB had on demo from Hardys preston, I drove it for the week

Outback Trucking in Ribchester !!! Black shadow must have hijacked bucket sponge and some soapy water looking very clean!![]()
looks like cooksons f10 in the background
Hi Arkie the F10 isnt Cooksons it belonged to Gordon Bagot at Ribchester never went on road with him, bought from Manchester Truck & Bus at Kearsley I think, he bought it just to sell on. LB or black shadow could tell us more !
Hi Arkie The f10 was Stan Cookson’s he bought it off Gordon Bagot. This wagon was nicknamed the chocolate motor because of its two tone brown colours. It was a s ride.Gordon never ran this wagon.
I stand corrected apologies !
Thanks Lance, although the chocolate motor was a F10 intercooler, Dad never ran it, I used it a couple of times and must say it went well for a F10.
what was the registration of the 2 tone brown f10 out of interest?
