As I’ve got nothing to do currently, I’ve researched this and it was Granada who changed the name to “Lancaster Services” by the looks of things sometime during the early 1980s, but they then changed it to “Lancaster (Forton)” where it’s stuck until Moto’s more recent attempts to rebrand it.

Better off going ten minutes up the road in to truck haven get yourself proper secure parking etc.

I know time flies in and it has more than likely been a lot longer, but I thought the Lancaster Forton to Lancaster was a lot more recent to that.

Anyway given the choice Iwould prefer Carnforth t/s to any ■■■■ MSA, whatever they choose to call these ■■■■ holes… or you could go further down to Chorley town truck park, on the edge of all town centre facilities.

Ah, was massively wrong by the looks of things - found a better source of information on the Lancaster Forton services. Granada takeover which was 1995 and it was sometime after that they they rebranded it to “Lancaster Services”, then rapidly back peddled to “Lancaster (Forton) Services”.
In 2001 Granada effectively became MOTO and sometime much later they started officially changing it’s branding to “Lancaster services” although I’m not even sure this is still complete to this day. Of course most of us will still call it Forton Services or “the airport services” as we used to call it as kids.
