just received a news update email from the DSA regarding laden vehicles being used for Initial and Periodic Driver CPC training and testing.
Part of the email reads:
“The legislation on real total mass / ‘laden testing’ won’t require vehicles used for Driver CPC periodic training to be laden”.
Yet, when you click on the link to read more information on the .GOV website it states:
“The Driving Standards Agency is introducing a real total mass requirement for vehicles used for driving tests from 30 September 2013.
These rules also apply to vehicles used for Driver CPC practical tests and periodic training.”
The email and message on the website seem to contradict each other.
Am I missing something here.
Do vehicles used for Initial and Periodic Driver CPC training need to be laden??
My thinking is C1 vehicles won’t have to be laden for the practical driving test but also can be used for the module 4 test. So would be a lot of messing about. Just a thought.
There is a small precedent for this. Vehicles used for MOD 4 dont have to have extra mirrors. This is because they are not being driven during the test. So the same applies, surely, to MOD 4 as far as loading goes?
