L forrester photos

Hi…
Anybody have any pictures of H Bradford, Rhostyllen, Wrexham…He used to do the South Wales Steelworks runs for Monanto aswell… Carried Acetone, MBT, Phenol, Sulphuric Acid etc…
His motors were an Albion 6 x4 OUN51G…AEC Mammoth Major, 8x4 VXC74N and a ERF C series 8x4 PAX 835Y…?..

Was there today Fodens are still there as well as an E series ERF unit on F reg

Was there a firm with Erf s with a similar name from Grantham perhaps they did milk or food stuffs?

Hi Dan.Do you mean J.O.Treasure Grantham, ran liquid tanks use to have some nice kit.Did’nt they have a yard at the side of the A1 under the A52 bridge at Barrowby.Trades as Treasure Transport Services these days but always looks a smart outfit.Mike.

Hi all anyone got any photos of forresters tankers of whixall shropshire f10 or f88 think they were orange cheers ian

L Forrester taken near Eardisley Herefordshire around 1982 This Scania had been stored for a couple of years before entering service , have got a pic of an f88 and the F10s will flag up when i can sort them out .

Hello Ian, will try and flag up a volvo pic this weekend time permitting . yeah i would see forresters at Monsanto and also they would deliver to Llanwern steelworks and a chemical plant at Ebbw vale.
Are you the Cadwalleders that operated LB76 scanias as well as the odd Foden ? Sorry i have not got any pics only a kid then but i can remember them going through Monmouth and Abergavenny loaded with scrap and sometimes what looked like foundry sand . Hi yes that was us had used run scrap down and wheel rim back also foundry sand had erf aki and foden LB76 and then 110s i will try and put some photos of 110 oh how i wish more photo were about then .i will ask bro about reg and get back to yon cheers ian

ello Ian this on the a483 near Builth wells returning from texaco at Llanelli on its way to monsanto at Ruabon.
Looking forward to seeing your pics. PS Ian did your dad help to move stuff back in the 60s for the Clywedog dam project as i think forresters involved ?

there are still some of theer old trucks in there yard think there fodens brings back memory that pic my dad had a new fl6 at the same time with the re g877hux

Hi Ian brand new in the yard at Whixhall will sort a F88 for you .i think HUX 43E was an Atkinson artic , back in the 70s iwould stay with relations on the A49 near Craven arms and would spend my time lorry spotting thats why i can remember registrations etc

Hi cc cracking photo just what i needed but might have to build two now after seeing 111 photo did not know had them .you must have seen plenty of trucks then on A49 i used to travel up and down that road on school hols meeting swains /lloyds /d n morgans /etc my dads [rip] trick scania 110 was SNT213H i will check out that number with bro when he gets back europe many thanks ian cad

Hi Ian as promised an F88. Yeah i would record all those firms you mentioned , the A49 carrying a differant variety of lorries as i was used to on the A48.
What i remember also back then were the Commer, Bedford and AEC artics of GKN Wellington i assume they were heading for GKN Cwmbran all the best cc

Chepstow Chap, funny how you remembered registration numbers. As a kid I would lorry/bus spot, I new all the reg no’s of local companies, the sound of the engines, and could tell from miles off which vehicle was coming and who it belonged too.
I used to be able to pick up on the slighhtest misfire or diesel knock. I could tell if an engine was running at its best just by hear. Strange really as I am tone deaf, and about the only Welsh boy who can not sing.
