konked out

pulling off the motorway the other day…i lost power as black smoke started billowing from the exhaust,i limped round the roundabout looking for a more suitable place to stop…but she konked, smack on the roundabout :frowning:
it would start, but it sounded terminal…so i switched it off and called for assistance.
just a bit of a quiz…do any of you mechs know what the problem was

i`ll give you a clue…it took scania assist about 5 mins to get it going again(not including lifting the cab up)

Air intake blocked with carrier-bag or similar picked up off the road?

some of them did`nt notice until the traffic in their offside lane started moving :unamused:

the odd one even had to reverse

i did a breakdown on the A5 a while back…one of our wagons broke down in lane 3 on the lights at the island with the A38 and toll road…i came up behind him in the works van…hazards on…multi flashing beacons everwhere and jumped out to get some kit out the back only to find a car about a foot from the back doors!!..i got a stack of cones out and thought about putting 1 on his bonnet?
our driver said no end of cars had stopped right behind him then had to reverse in the 45 minutes he was stuck there?

When I was on containers, there was a regular job about 5 mins from my house, they take the container off, put it on the ground and load it down there.
I used to give them my mobile number and nip home with the truck, parked the truck up on the main road and went in the house, sometimes for as much as 3.5hrs, come back out and there’d be a queue of cars behind the truck :open_mouth: , used to make me laugh like mad :grimacing:

Thick gets.
