Hello all,
Anybody been to Knighton foods before?
Just want to know what the place is like. I know it’s not a great place to go but thought I would as you folks?
Cheers

It’s a pain in the arse. Single lane to get to it, wait outside (blocking lane till you can get in, ) tight once in. Security treats you like you are inconveniencing their day. You must wear an orange hi-viz. Place is tight and awkward once you’re in. I only ever unloaded packaging, usually in an available corner as directed by the forklift driver.
Good luck.
I’ve been there many times, yes it’s a bit tight to get into but, as said single track access road but there’s plenty of opportunity for two HGVs to pass just take it slow & steady , I have to say I’ve been to far worse places as per room once in, it’s not great but you shouldn’t struggle too much.
Never had a problem with security, especially the blonde girl who’s very pleasant.
The golden rule is access from the A41, DO NOT try any other routes your ■■■■ nav may suggest and DON’T turn right as you exit the gate, you’ll regret it!
Anybody who’s been to Belle Engineering near Buxton will find this place a breeze by comparison!
Is it a blindside reverse arthurhucksake?
The times I’ve been there, no, I’ve either dropped a trailer in their yard or been able to reverse on my good side, if your not confident about doing a blind side if the situation arose, they do have a yard shunter with a Terberg unit, rather than struggle you could always ask him nicely to put it on the bay for you, it depends which part of the site your delivering to ultimately.

Surely getting the shunter god to put it on a bay instead of doing it yourself if you don’t fancy a blindside won’t help you learn when you have to do it?.
If that’s the case get someone to drive it for you too if you don’t fancy driving, nobody is born to do it it comes with practice if there is a shunter god ask him to watch you back if its too much to do then ask for help but at least have a go,trucks that drive themselves aren’t available yet unfortunately.
If you are dropping a trailer and they want it dropping on one of the bay in the “middle yard (highlighted by the red line, drive into the corner and you’ll end up with an easy blindside reverse. Just watch your front offside corner on the grass (where the orange circle is). The shunter is really helpful and will guide you if you ask for help. Never known him to put someone on a bay though.
Thank you all for you’re help. Will let you know how I get on hahaha

I used to be a yard shunter at Tesco Middlewich years back I got asked on average at least once per shift if I could put a trailer on the bay be it with my unit or driving theirs, if it avoided damage to our trailers or trucks adjacent to the space they were struggling to get into, I was happy to do it, I’ll sometimes offer now if I see someone struggling.
Yes practice makes perfect but no harm in asking for or offering help.
