You must have a very easy job dbt that does not entail a lot of climbing in & out of the cab as many types of haulage jobs do.
Keep the trucks ■■■■ & span by all means, but just be sure its in paid time as what you do is as much for your employers benefit as your own.

im on container work mate so it is ok… the work that we do is only driving … no handball etc so when were stopped if its sunny out with the polish lol… if its cold and horrible outside… put a dvd on or catch a wee sleep…most places are between 1-3 hours tbh so when ur loading theres plenty of time… ive been to a few that were 7 hours plus
not nice them lol…
Like I said before, try muckshifting…
I work for a firm and all the drivers exept me have ther own truck so when one is of i cover and it is nice to climb in a clean truck than get a chip pan but most keep them clean. I like the drivers who have ocd they keep them really clean.

i have that ocd thing you talk about
as said at the start some drivers think they are better than others , but its not allways blinged up trucks just dicks ! mind you you get that in whatever job u do in life so its not really fair to just pick out the blinged up trucks all the bog standard ones dont stick in your mind thats all ) ive had a few trucks with a bit of bling on over the years , and yes two were muckaway tippers a scania 124 360 sleeper 6 wheeler six lights on the roof bar marker lights everywhere stainless etc etc that was replaced by a volvo fm 380 sleeper did a similar job with that too . working on muckaway in cornwall & devon some jobs we stayed away most of the week , as said some of us its a bit of a hobby as well as a job too and just because some dont tramp up and down the country doesnt mean they cant have a nice looking truck too
as said everyones different.
If the firm has good clean facilities to wash them then that’s an incentive. Where I park looks like the Somme at the moment and both washpads are covered in crap from drivers too lazy to get in and shovel the muck out before washing down. Couple that to the fact that Foden Alphas are hopeless to keep clean, as any road dirt sprays up the side windows, over the doors and down the bodysides from even a slightly damp road it’s a bit off putting to waste my wages on tarting it up-especially as it’s nearly 6 years old as iss waiting to have the fan clutch replaced (it’s working all the time and howls like something from the '70s)
i know what u mean its a nitemare this time of year changed job about three years back i`m on a flat now with a crane delivering timber in the south west , much more interesting and lorry stays a bit cleaner
havent done a lot to this yet , just put some bits that came off previous trucks on . i was single back then so had some spare cash , married with a little one on the way now so cant really spend too much on it now !! a lot of the boys that do distance are single so probaly have a bit of spare cash + its there home all week . the roads would be very dull if all trucks were stanard
I’ll happily wash a truck as I like a clean motor. As an agency driver, I’m amazed at the filth in some trucks, some drivers are like pigs, however, I draw the line at bling.
But some drivers take it a bit too far:

Muckaway:
dbt:
curtains across side window… check(stops sun glare thru side windows)… bling… yup got to keep them clean… nothing so un’ professional as a dirty truck… or people who put their feet up on the dash with shoes on(pet hate) nothing wrong with taking pride in what you do for a living 'professional’s after all eh
a clean tidy well presented truck shows this…
Try muckshifting this time of year, clean it that much you’d never leave the pit. I agree with keeping it presentable, but why should drivers have to buy tat to show off someone elses vehicle? Hose the mud off chassis, axles etc, and use pressure washer for 10 mins at the end of the day (if I’m finished in good time). We’ve had drivers who go in before they get paid/after hours and on sundays to clean their trucks-WHY?
I used to go in on Sundays at my old place. Finish off where the “cleaner” missed!
I also go in on Sundays, to clean a van for the next driver, if I get back late and it’s too dark. It’s called RESPECT1

the first one is photoshop, the 2nd one is dekatora truck, youve gotta understand a bit about the way of them to know why they are like that

What if its a femme? Is she then queen of the road? LOLI’ve seen a few male
drivers that would happiliy answer to that title
.
yes and if you see a r&r transport 105 with lady michelle on the sun visor he likes to try a "different dress code " when not working i brought his lorry back from perugia and was ■■■■■■■■ myself coming through the tunnel hoping i dont get stopped . you can just imagine the conversation no officer they are not my dresses and high heels !! i picked the truck up in italy !! and his reply dont worry it is not the first time i have seen this kind of thing we are all open minded here . two weeks later 4 of us were in the cabbage patch on our way back from irun and he was there in his finest dress !!!
