Kind of bricking it

Just need to get used to driving it again kinda feels like I’ve had a decent win on the lotto but too scared to spend it just incase it’s a wind up

It’s just a truck dude :unamused: :grimacing:

dafpower:
Got into work this morning expecting a bollocking over a parking fine goes into office to explain and was given the keys to the firms flagship motor an XF with all the toys. That’s not the bit I’m bricking well it is a little small scratch on this and it they will be all over me like syphilis on a prossie what I’m bricking the most is learning c&e again and riding solo. When I mean again its 12 month since I last drove c&e and I’ve just come out of a 6 wheel tag just looking for pointers and any tips

Thanks in advance

You’ll be fine fella - enjoy it. Just remember your weight (trailer/unit) allignment with the 5th wheel and if you feel tired then take a break. I did some C/E driving recently after a few years away and it soon all comes back.

So it’s d day folks let’s see what happens

^ ?

^ ?

think he means we’re all waiting to hear how you got on

So what if it gets scratched, accidents happen won’t be done on purpose, nothing to worry about.

Sorry but I hate that attitude.

Exactly what tachograph said

You shoudnt get yourself worked up about it,the jobs bad enough !! :stuck_out_tongue:

last week i was given a truck and when i was handed the keys, i was told " you better look after it, its his pride and joy !! "

when i jumped in it was like a caravan  everything was there, food, bedding even cuddly toys !! and it was absolutely spotless inside…

did i fret ?..nah i just went out did the run, brought it back, gave it a quick wash ( you are told to wash the trucks after each run ) gave the inside a wipe over and left !!

there is another place i do shifts in where nearly every truck and trailer is brand new and the yard can be as tight as a ducks ar*e sometimes, but you just go and do your job and enjoy it

You have your Dcpc card don’t ya? Get on with it then lad!!

If you do scratch it just blame an agency bod.

+1

Or a fellow staff driver that tries to blame an agency bod.

Ken.

Yes dessy I have that useful windscreen scraper was a bit costly mind

Anyway d day has been and gone done a few runs with it getting used to her reversing is still fun and games but I’m assumeing one day it will all just click or am I making an ■■■ me

Hey Dafpower. Glad your first runs went well. Don’t sweat about reversing. That just clicks. Sometimes it’ll not go as planned and that’ll always happen. Don’t press on if it’s going to a ball of chalk, throw it away and take another bite. Get out and look if im doubt. Don’t be over thinking it, it’ll come. Just go slowly and methodically.

I used to do things like dropping trailers and coupling quickly but I take my time now. I saw a shunter at another yard smirking with his mate while I was taking a while to drop a trailer. I actually couldn’t get the fith wheel handle to move, it was dark so I fetched the torch; the catch on a wire wasn’t lifting up enough and was tricky to get it to lift because the trailer was so close to the handle. Said shunters power round on 2 wheels as if they’re on fire, launching under trailers. It’s a bit childish to me. Maybe they feel more manly driving like that, anyway I takes me time and that way hopefully I’ll not get squashed by something big and made of heavy metal.

What attitude, I don’t mean its not yours so it doesn’t matter.
Trying to say the op is worried about damaging it but if something happens it hasn’t been done on purpose not from neglecting it accidents happen.
