Kids and living abroad

hey

ok maybe this should be in the family section but i think that its more directed to people in Europe.

right, well next year i am moving abroad, to sweden to be precise, and the only problem that i foresee is that me and my ex have a son and he is living with her in scotland.

how many of you are in the same situation and how have you got round the problems ?

also the ex is being a dog about it all, and has thrown the whole toolbox into the works.

thanks

mike

jhave you thought of having her topped.

i hear you can get a hitman for about £2000

ask if you can have him over on summer holidays half term etc if your in derby and shes in scotland it must be hard to get to see him anyway :frowning: but on the moving abroad thing did she consult you in length before she moved to scotland your best bet is to sit down and have a chat with her they get arsey when things dont go there way

try takeing a holiday in sweden and
if possible excatly where you are
going to be working, with your son have a look on the
internet for any information you can find
also write to the swedish embassy for
any information they can supply for people who are
going to sweden to live and work, explain to your son
it gives him a chance to see another part of europe and
to learn another culture, meet different youngsters,
At present sweden norway are looking for all tyypes of workers and
quite a lot of germans have moved to these countrys to benifit
from the better conditions,

Thanks for the replys

hoping that a rather large bus would do that for me and for free

thats what i have already suggested to her but she has said that she isn’t happy about it, - personally i think that it is a reason to be difficult and trying to stop my new start.

brit pete, have already spent a lot of time there, as for talking to my son about it, well he’s still a bit too young to understand but i can see him loving it when he gets older - you’ve got to admit that European women are prettier.

have got a bit of info off a government website, but might write off to the embassy to get more of a personal response.

Moving a woman away from home is never easy. Back in 1983 I was offered a job in France just after our 2nd son was born. We had just moved into a new house so I turned it down. Two years later I was asked again & we decided that it would be a good start for our two sons to be naturally bi-lingual.

Twenty three years later she is still homesick every couple of months even though she was never very close to her familay & didn’t have a pile of friends. The two boys are more than happy with their lives over here on the continent but women are a different story.
