After spending 12 years in the army fixing armoured vehicles etc it was just run of the mill to job in a tank and move it etc …Nowdays i’d love to have a drive of a tank again .except now i’d have to pay o do it
God on the lads / lassies who made his dream come true

Kate, can i just make a slight comment on your post?
it wasn’t just the guys in South Wales that did this
it was actually arranged by a man called Stuart Bain from Tamworth, there were drivers from all over the country that turned up for the event
the original idea was to raise enough money to hire a top spec truck for a day, and Stuart was going to drive it himself to take Kian out for the day, but, the donations came in a hell of a lot quicker than anybody ever anticipated, and over £1000 was raised in the first 24 hours of the justgiving fund being opened
another member of the admin team from the group went round some of the local truck dealers, and basically asked for donations, most of them obliged with jackets, models and whatever they could lay their hands on at such short notice
any excess money in the fund will be donated to the Make A Wish foundation
word spread amongst the other groups on facebook, and Andrew (Pete359) offered the use of his stunning truck to pick Kian up and take him for a drive before eventually arriving at R J Masons yard, along with approx 50 other trucks, there to support the day
it all started from Kian (the boy in question) being booted out of a lorry drivers group on facebook, for being autistic
another group, which i am an admin on, have supported Stuart and his idea to give Kian the day of his life
i really don’t wish to name names of those that booted him from their group, nor post links to the facebook group that helped out, as i know that the bosses here, Rikki, doesn’t like facebook links on here

Im assuming it wasn’t actually the main reason? I don’t do Facebook so not bothered about lorry groups or what not but im guessing they didn’t boot him out the moment they found out he was autistic.

Fair enough. Cool group.

Yup…
So, another HGV driver on another group - who was also a member on that group and saw what happened, started a ‘little collection’ to raise around £500 to rent a truck and take him for a ride for the day.
It touched base with a lot of drivers in the group and raised over double that in under a day, and then, as Rob said, got a lot of support for other stuff from OD’s and truck manufacturers and turned into that.
I was hoping to also arrange a possible motorcycle procession with another group I’m a member of, but it happened so fast that I couldn’t get out of work at such short notice, so missed the day, but was proud to have helped
and thank you to all the bosses who let
the trucks be used
Very big WELL DONE to EVERYONE who made Kian’s day a very special one
