Keyfuels and loyalty points

Where can you collect loyalty points when paying with a keyfuels card. My card is a standard keyfuels card.

You don’t get loyalty points on a key fuel card

Very few places.
Cooperative give membership points at a tenth of the value, which is slightly better than none. But BP, Esso and Morrisons don’t give any points.

I have a fuelgenie card for morrisons( and tesco), they give points no problem , i have already got £10 back this week so far

The question was about Keyfuels. Some fuel cards do allow you to get loyalty points, Keyfuels generally don’t.

Used to collect shell points whenever I filled up until the company stopped using shell fuel cards. Never refused, most of the time they probably asked and swiped it on auto pilot but a few cashiers told me good luck to you, barely anyone collects them in cars!

Now on BP cards, always present my nectar card with the fuel card. 9 times out of 10 I’m politely told I can’t use it, fair enough, but every now and then it’ll get swiped. Again, when it has been swiped the cashiers have always made a quip about Bp’s profits while swiping

When we had BP cards at my previous job I never had any problem getting Nectar points, at either BP Connect, independents or the Cooperative, although one member of staff at the Coop said I couldn’t get Coop membership points as the fuel card wasn’t in my name, but the rest of the staff swiped it every time.

I find most of the motorway services reluctant to do it for some reason. No idea why, I’d swipe every single one if I worked there, just like a little rewarding bit of payback at BP!

The only type of Keyfuels rewards I’ve ever received was years ago at Aust services. They used to dish out 50 pence Burger King vouchers for every 100 ltr of fuel. Not even sure if they still do that as we’ve had our cards confiscated. :imp: :imp:

I collect Tesco points with my Keyfuels card. Be careful though, they only accept the purple one…

Just to let everyone know that i called keyfuels on the number on their website and the lady told me that you can’t get any points at all at any of the service stations using a keyfuels card.

I think that answers the question i asked and straight from the horse’s mouth.

Thanks anyways guys.

Depends on the flavour of BP card you have - BP Plus Fuel Cards give you Nectar points, BP Plus Bunker cards do not. Nothing to stop them swiping your card, but whether any points get added to your account is another question entirely.

i was just pointing out one that does

Used to collect a lot of points at a coop petrol station until you read the small print that says you can’t collect points on fuel cards.

I get nectar points at a local bp using key/uk fuels.

I managed to get nectar points a couple of times at Toddington, then they started refusing,
I said - I got them before, they said - well you shouldn’t - not on Key Fuels

I think it depends who is on the till,
some of them don’t realize and swipe it anyway

The fact is - you don’t get any points with KeyFuels card - but if you casually hand your nectar card over, occasionally someone will swipe it without thinking

Why aren’t you meant to get points?
I have a Shell one and hardly anywhere allows points on hgv fuel now. Never had a Nectar card as I see it as asking for junk mail.

Fuel drawn on a bunker card is usually cheaper than the pump price so they don’t let you participate in forecourt promos etc because you’ve already had your reward of cheaper fuel.

It must be the deals the fuel card companies have with the retailers. I guess the likes of Keyfuels cut the retailers margins right down, so they can’t afford to give you a teasmade.

Never mind the Ts&Cs, just hand over the card and see if you get any point on it.

You can see here, the Nairn one are Keyfuels purchases for pump prices of £50, £100, £240 etc, but give 5, 10, 24 points, whereas the Telford Street one is for £10 of grocers and gets 10 points.
