kent transport

I have a better copy of UKM 285H when it was new, however since it is Karl’s picture and he & Keith Elliot are in it I won’t post it without without his permission.

Just found this online. Looks as if the old girl got a life after haulage with the fairground. C202 was with BJ Walton of Aylesham:

I drove it very briefly on tilt work when it was still fairly new. It had an NTE 320, RTX 11609 and Rockwell double-drive. Cracking motor to drive but glad I never had to sleep in it!!

Not Foden but Atkinson from way back in this thread. Plus a Bennetts

Hi all.

My grandfather was John Smith from J&L Smith.

It was with his brother Len.

If anyone has any photos of their trucks I’d love to see them or hear any stories.

He had a Scammell in the pics below.

The driver of OKN947G was Kieth Elliott,he had it new ,and was on the bulk grain nitrovit contract with my old man Norman Dadson ,along with the MKV bulker ,driven by Johnny Williams,Nick name TONTO,happy memories

My old man Norman Dadson done a lot of miles in that Chinese 6 atki ,as did I ,when I was very young ,I fell off the back of it , dragging a box of oranges ,I fell off the back at mack and Edwards at paddock wood

Where in Kent was this?

My old man ,tipped the first ever load into nitrovit animal feeds at crowborough, when it first opened, with the MKV bulker

Norman Dadson was my dad ,

My dad Norman Dadson and my uncle John dadson are in the photo

Hi Paul, i ended up driving with Norman later on when we were both on JP Shipping together. He was always very helpful and we always had a laugh.

He loved that Safeway job😁

He did indeed, for many reasons  I used to do it when he occasionally had a holiday. Forgive me for asking but i assume he’s no longer with us?

Sadly not ,passed away in 2013
