Kendal to Workington

Can anyone help me to decide which way to go.
I am tipping at Kendal in morning and reloading in Workington, siddick to be precise.
Should I take the scenic route via the A591 or A6 M6 A66.
Also can I get to siddick from the A66?
I’m just thinking about the bridge that got washed away?

If my memory serves me correctly HGVs are banned from using the A591 as a thro’ route so you will have to go over shap to Penrith.Cheers Bewick.

Righto mr bewick, thanks.
I have often wondered about that bit of road (the leyland clock and what have you)
cheers.

Was up there myself last Friday at Seaton with 26 tonne of stone, and the bridge in Workington is indeed a no hgv zone, so you can go up the A594 through Dovenby and turn left towards Broughton Moor. Continue onto Seaton, and Siddick is just the other side.

Return via the same route, and yes, it is wide enough for an artic.

Also beware of the mobile scamera vans in the area.

Ken.

If you are in anything over 13feet DO NOT go via Seaton there is a low bridge, you can go along the A66 to
Workington follow the signs through the town towards Maryport Siddick will be on your right .
