KELSALL SHOW

I wonder if yon Foden has the 2 stroke in it. In the early 60’s Foden had one at Sandbach as a works vehicle and the word was from the lads who worked there it would pull owt up a vertical wall. Fine machine.

It’s possible. I know they were still fitting FD6 two-strokes three years before this one was registered and there is no tell-tale Gardner badge on the front. If I see the beast again I will investigate further.

I’ve just had a bit of a search, but I can’t find anything about the engine. It is listed as having the Foden 12-speed transmission and, perhaps more interestingly, it was advertised for sale on Mannheim’s auction site on 5th July 2013, current bid £1850.00.

Retired Old ■■■■:
The last lorry I had before my retirement was a Premium. That was three years ago and I’ve just managed to get rid of the dodgy back that bl**dy thing gave me.

Of its many faults that’s not one I suffer from !
On the other hand older Scanias used to give me backache.
And old Atkis certainly gave backache but it came with the job then!

“Where there’s blame there’s a claim”.

If only we’d known about that years ago when we were busy getting bad backs, being deafened by noisy engines, slipping off wet step rings and climbing on high loads with three or four wet sheets in a gale.
