Keith Headley Middle East

fly sheet:

geoffthecrowtaylor:
Wheelnut Jimmy had quite a collection of old tractors as well as a few 89s in various stages of disintegration including an ex Norman Lewis one still in it s original Hoyer colours all kept on his dad s farm at Horwich and also a 3 litre Sweeney style Ford Granada which in his words would pass anything other than a filling station. Crow.

I remember that Norman Lewis one Geoff I went to see it Myself in a yard somewhere not too far away Bolton maybe?, I remember finding out Jim had bought it later, seems like forever ago now…

I have another photo of the 89 with Jim and his mate stood against the wall looking at it, it is in the same shed as the big CASE

We re straying a bit here boys but Mick as your dad and Jimmy were the best of mates it does nt really matter.Crow.

Sorry about derailing the thread, lets get back to Keith Headley. I met him a couple of times as he was pulling for Landfast at the time

Thanks for putting those pics up Wheelnut, much appreciated .

Jimbo.

Do any of you old truckers remember my old man Keith Headley , I am his son Mick we used drive two 2800 daf,s around the middle east in the late 70s- 80s I packed in drivin late 80s but my old man carried on till he died france on the 20th April 1995 .

Hi Mick, I do remember your father & that customized DAF, whatever happened to it ?.
I am sorry to hear that your dad has died, another of life’s characters, hope you are well.

Dave.

i remember your dad - a real good bloke, he got me out of a scrape in Greece one time and i got the chance to return the favour a couple of weeks later in italy, it’s nice when that happens.I was sorry to hear of his death it wasnt that long after i went up to see him at his house on the way to a visit to Corrie in Manchester. A sad loss.

Hello Mick, was it you or your Dad with the blue D.A.F. who used to park next to I.C.I. Heywood in the late eighties ?.

Regards Steve.
