Might want to go look at how much money has been spent on things like the Catthorpe Interchange upgrade, the new stretch of A14 at Huntingdon to Cambridge, the upgrades at Immingham junctions etc and the plans for things like dualling the entire A66 from Scotch Corner to Penrith.

Complain as much as you like about the transport industry and the Driver facilities. Nothing much will change,because Drivers and the Companies they work for are their own worst enemy. Few years back BP and a few others ventured into Truckstops over the country but eventually closed them down. Damage and theft to shower facilities,urinating in the lorry park, and Companies not prepared to pay for parking,dare say theres more.Not enough viability leading to renting out the parks for trailer storage and change overs and opening up to the general public more.As for long hours, while theres money to earned many drivers will do them. If you are loaded ready for home, and home is only a couple of hours away.Ask yourself would you park up on let say 10-12 hrs when you could be home in your own bed in 12 -15 not many would.Bosses know this and schedule accordingly.
Rothwell truckstop good, perhaps anotherone to follow near Hams Hall (won’t please Lincoln Farm though). In general there’s options could be better could be worse.
■■■■■■ up wheel of truck is compulsory more so in today’s climate. I draw the line at an al fresco dump though.
Ideally one should urinate in a grass area but if needs must just open door and let rip.
Oh and yes when at home I do ■■■■ in the garden, wife’s still not forgiven me for drilling glory hole in downstairs loo.
