Just look out for reg GK60 OWZ(DWZ)

 :open_mouth: I can’t believe that some drivers on here actually BELIEVE the official PR bullcrap about truck crime :unamused: it’s simply thousands of pounds of taxpayer’s money spent to catch you eating yer Mars bar, next somebody will come on to say that Speed cameras are for road safety :unamused: .Anyway it’s good to see the Police are at the cutting edge of serious crime :unamused:

It is also to massage the ego of Mr Nairn who wants to tear along the M6/M5 unrestricted in a Volvo! Dodgy scots haulier that he apparently was in his past! :grimacing:

Did truckpol not livery up a trailer warning drivers about theft etc and someone stole their trailer? Or am i imagining this?

The CMPG officers, whose daily challenges can been seen in the BBC series Motorway Cops, have gained a reputation for their innovative crime fighting techniques after acquiring the HGV two years ago, leading to great successes in reducing crime.

for that read. nicking drivers for being on the phone, eating a sarnie, drinking a coffee, quick check of map etc

Instead of swanning around in a 60 plate truck I think something about 6 years old with a curtainsider with repair patches would be more inconspicuous, especially if they wanted to blend in to catch thriving criminals. But as others have said, that’s probably not it’s purpose.

What a cretin :smiling_imp:

Wonder how many other drivers are out there, doing the same thing. W@nkers.

del949:
Puzzled as to how a unit with no trailer or load is going to have any effect on deterring crims from stealing vehicles or loads.
Why not be truthful. It’s only purpose is to catch drivers on the phone etc.

& what’s wrong with that?
far as i’m concerned using a phone while driving is as bad as drink driving!!!

Yeah im sure criminals who are intending to rob trucks look all round the park in detail at every truck and then draw up a selection matrix to see what the risk of getting caught is
Im sure a newish unit on its own isnt that rare in a truck park

not sure what question you are asking.
I didn’t suggest that there was anything wrong with catching truckers on the phone etc, only that it is wrong to pretend that it is for something different.

Quite right. It’s to catch truck drivers, so why not come clean rather than pretend they’re doing us a favour? I’d like to see in a year’s time the stats:

Number of truck drivers fined/nicked versus how many criminal gangs/■■■■■■ that specialize in truck crime and diesel theft nicked…

I bet the former is a much bigger number than the latter… :grimacing:
