Is it my imagination, or does every single industrial estate and lay-by west of London have a kebab van parked on it of an evening?
This seems to be a new phenomenon to me, or have I just not noticed before?

Good old kebab don’t eat it in the cab
What worries me is that some people actually use these things
Cheaper than services…

theres a nice mobile chinese on the a41 south of whitchurch so it not all kebab vans and there was a burger van near skipton that was selling jamacian food, was nice too
Got one by us and its a burger, bacon n egg van by day and doubles up as kebab van after 4.00 pm and does a roaring trade.

Kebabs…The one on the twirley machine is a proven health hazard, others are OK, so long as they are cooked through.
I wouldn`t eat from any foreign vendor though, cultural habits are hard to diminish…I know this because I used to have a close working relationship with my local female EHO

The meat on a machine may be bad for your health but it is a proven fact that with extra chilli sauce and 5 pints of lager you will be absolutely fine
I was at a jetty for a oil exploration company in the jungle to the east of Port Harcourt in Nigeria at a bush bar. Afterwards walking back to the ship there was a nice aroma of cooking. It turned out to be a local kebab hut ( 45 gallon oil drum cut in half with an iron mesh on top.) The bottled beer had worked well so I bought one and quite enjoyed it. Was eating the remnants on arrival back on board only to be told by one of the natives working the cargo that it was ‘Bush Meat’. Never did find out for sure what ‘bush meat’ is but he suspected it was monkey
Where’s the smiley for being violently sick !
I think I can remember it was the left hand that used to carry the can and for washing the nether regions and the right hand for eating. In the London docks the lascar seamen used to have their own toilets on the quay and you would see them walking to them.

Brightly-lit and slowly-rotating doner kebabs are like a lighthouse for drunks!
My wife’s van does Homemade Curry on Fridays … She is from Singapore …so it is very hot…!!
and it sell’s out everytime…
Blatent Plug…
The Whistlestop Express Houston Ind Est, Livingston …Near Iceland /Booker…
I’ve eaten in some very dodgy places all over the world(ex forces) and the only place to nearly kill me ,yes kill me… Was the Bp garage on the a34 between peartree and the m40…bought some chicken from M&S there and ended up in hospital for a week with campilibactor …
I will NEVER eat kebabs from a mobile unit.
Good (the more expensive) kebab meat is made from lamb, onions and textured vegetable protein and is safe enough.
The cheap stuff contains mechanically removed chicken meat. This is OK in iteslf BUT once the kebab has been on the grill machine (and thawed) and then been re-frozen and then put back on the grill the next day there are a whole host of risks attached.
When out on the ■■■■ in Oxford on a Friday night, we’d go to a rot van near our bus stop…
I stopped going when I saw it in the daylight whilst delivering to Oxford station. Beer goggles aren’t just for making ugly birds attractive.
There’s another rot van near Burford roundabout on the A361. Sells kebabs from 8am. Park in “his” layby and don’t buy anything, it winds him up.
good places to get rid of surplus tobacco and cigarettes that you brought in for yourself, but then decided to quit.
The one at Portishead does a great chicken bab. Funnily enough it tastes much better at midnight than it does at 6pm!
I’d rather eat from a Kebab/burger van where I can see the cooking area for myself and make an educated decision than some of the posh restaurants in Mayfair where I have no idea what the cooking and preparation areas are like (or the people doing it).
RE the chicken from services, M&S do a PARTLY cooked chicken in breadcrumbs, located usually near the ham etc and in very small writing on the back, it tells you that it needs further cooking although from looking at the colour of the breadcrumbs, you wouldn’t think so. Quite a few have spent a few days off work due to this . You have been warned!
In Portugal thay have Bifana vans,a spicy beef bun,i saw the owner sweep up rubbish with his hands, the come back with no hand washing to serve Bifana`s,the dirt was near a sewer over flow drain.
