Just wondering

many years ago when I worked up north for suttons they had a thing that insured drivers license in case they lost there license due to medical reasons/grounds, obviously not for any other reason, is there anywhere that does this now?

I remember something similar, but I’m sure that it was a TGWU thing. I stand to be corrected though.

Yes the union did the insurance via a third party, when I used to drive buses we where covered and the was also a scheme (hardship allowance) that paid most fines.

T&G had “Driver Aid”

T&GWU or UNITE as it is now, has a scheme called “drivercare”, its an extra couple of quid on top of normal union subs… all told around 25 a month inc your subs  i know, cos im on it!
