Just took C+E test this afternoon

And passed with 2 minors.
I was sooooo nervous. And nerves aren’t usually a problem for me.
Nearly messed the uncouple/couple up forgetting things and having to walk around the truck like 3 times.
Had the cold sweats and racing heart. Then managed a “really good drive”.
The minors were for a muppet in a 7.5t horsebox who wouldn’t let me out on the motorway - hesitation.
And been struggling with getting 5th all week and it was just a little problem coming off the roundabout on the slip road.

Off to buy myself a yorkie :sunglasses:

I assume it was in an artic?

I assume it was in an artic?

Why?

Congratulations on the pass.

Pete

Yep. In a manual artic.

I asked what it was passed in because I also have a W&D pic with fireworks

Lol.

Congrats fella. I was same as you. nerves never affect me but on both my tests was sweating like mad lol. good luck finding work and keep on trucking!!!

Why does the horse box have to let you out on the motorway, .You give way to him.
That is what the lines mean on the joining slip road.
If you did not learn that ,ask for your money back and do not drive ever again

Well done and all the best , I bet you felt well chuffed after that ,and then once you sit down and take breath and wonder how did I get through it , nerves ,sweating , dry mouth and that’s just you thinking about the 2 questions before you start the reverse manoeuvre , happy trucking fella .

Hahahaa.
Ever heard of Common courtesy?
There were no other vehicles around. Moving to the middle lane wouldn’t have put the driver out at all and would have been the COURTEOUS thing to do. I do it all the time. I flash people out of junctions, Move over on the motorway to allow them to merge without having to slow down etc etc. Basically I’m aware that I’m not the only person on this earth and regardless of the rules, I can make other people lives easier without really putting myself out to do so.

And I am fully aware that I have to give way and I did. If I hadn’t I’m pretty sure I would’ve failed my test for forcing another vehicle to change speed or direction by physically pushing it across the motorway.

I do hope that nobody ever flashes you out of a junction or moves over to allow you to merge Toby.

What does the highway code say about flashing head lights?

not to do it in dodgy laybays or you my lose your ■■■■ virginity.

well done on a solid pass btw

Thanks Danny.
And everybody else. Apart from Toby.

The highway code says

Only flash your headlights to let other road users know that you are there. Do not flash your headlights to convey any other message or intimidate other road users.

But I live in the real world and in my 20 years of driving on the UK and europes roads, have managed not to have any accidents. And naughty me, I show courtesy to lorries and flash my headlights to signal to them that I am allowing them to make a pain in the arse manouver or join a busy road or something else that might make their life a little easier. In complete contravention of the highway code.

Hi J_K,

I see you’ve met Toby. :grimacing:

In all your years of driving, I’d guess that you’ve never been to Tobyland.

Toby lives in Tobyland.

Haha.
Nope. Never been.

And I really don’t think I want to go there either
