Just passed my case studies

hey guys just passed my case studies and i was the topic on who will pay for your dcpc. now my question is im 24 had my car licence in 2009 got my digi tacho card but not sure if i can drive for a living without doing the practical demonstration? as some have said the deadline is 2014 for cpc training or is it for people who are doingthe 7hrs a year thing.

No, you need to have passed the Practical Demonstration test before you can drive legally.

Congrats on the case studies pass.

some questions are slighty hard i had 44 right. not bad after all i bought the wrong book. lol just take your time read the case study and the question. the mixer question i had to laugh at (what two parts rotate on this vehicle?) um gee let me think… dunno lol

some daft questions and really helpfull questions nowt too worry bout really.

I bought the offical DSA book about the CPC. Waste of money in my opinion. The offical DSA book on the theory test was fantastic but the CPC one is next to useless. All the information worth reading in it could be condenced into a leaflet that they could give you after you’ve applied for your provisional licence or passed your test. :unamused:

they do it for motorcycles. i had a leaflet after my test to either do the other modules and get a bigger cc straight away or wait 2 years then get a bigger cc. didnt bother with it though just kept my 125. the book just explains what the cpc is about really and goes on to tell you need to buy such and such a book to give you answers. waste of money and paper lol poor twees pmsl

DriverCPC Website:
LGV Drivers

If you are a new driver taking a test in either Category C1 or C after the 10th September 2009 you will need to pass all 4 modules below to be able to drive commercially.” All drivers that already hold these licences will have this qualifiaction under “Grandfathers Rights”, however you will still need to do your periodic training.

To become a driver and successfully gain the INITIAL DRIVER CPC a new driver must pass the following 4 modules:

Theory and Hazard Awareness test.

Case study questions and answers.

Practical Driving Test.

Practical Demonstration Test.

The candidate will be asked questions about certain topics such as load restraints and asked to demonstrate their knowledge e.g. using a ratchet strap you must show the examiner how it works and how they would use it to secure a load.

The bit I’ve given quotation marks applies to you I think mate, I may be wrong though but I’m almost 100% sure that as you haven’t got C on your license already and you are working towards that - you will need to sit the practical demonstration. Someone a little more experienced with CPC will be along soon to confirm though, i’m sure.
