Hi everyone,
I passed my Class 2 yesterday at first attempt
Done my CPC also.
Now looking for work so I sent away for my digital tacho card today. It says on the form it can take up to 15 days to arrive. Does it usually take as long as this?
thanks
james
Got my tacho card in five days. PS Well done. Are you going for you class one now.
Congratulations on your pass

Regarding C+E, I thought that too - but actually C+E is not too much harder than C. Even more mirror checking on corners / bends, bit longer, and learning to reverse it are probably the main differences.
There were a couple of corners on the test routes that are actually easier in an artic as the fifth wheel lets you get the trailer further forwards then swing it around much quicker than you can steer in a rigid!
So “a few years class C experience” is probably over the top to be honest. I wish I’d done mine sooner after C now as it would have been easier while I was still in the mindset. All the best whatever you decide to do.
Digital Tacho arrived today. So it took around 5 days including the weekend.
Still waiting for licence to come back as test examiner took it to post it away last thursday. Can I do any work without my licence? I have my pass certificate.
thanks
james
Legally, yes. Whether an employer will want to see the licence first is another matter though.
Hi, congratulations on your pass. I’m also in the same boat as you. Passed my c+e last Thursday, and waiting for my license to come back.
I have spoken to an agency firm and a haulage company, and both have said they need copies of my license for insurance purposes. So I’m hoping it arrives soon, so that I can crack on with some real driving.
