Just Passed Class 2 - Looking for work

Hi,

I passed my Class 2 just under two weeks ago after the second attempt. I’ve read many posts’ recommendations about how to go about looking for work; Start with agencies; Cold call local companies etc. The biggest problem I have is my location, it’s quite rural. I’m in mid Wales near Brecon. I’m only just starting to put a list of agencies together to call. Most of the jobs I see on Indeed etc are a fair commute away. I’ve put together a list that shows locations from me, distance and time (according to Google maps).

Looking for any recommendations, if anyone knows any potential employers in these areas, would it be best to start with agencies?

I hate to put a damper on it but tramping may be your best option and you may need to get class one for that. It’s hard when you live in the sticks. I am lucky, Leicester burton derby and Nottingham are all close to me, gives me a lot of options.

You need to move. Find an area with lots of HGV jobs and cheap accommodation.

The op may not want to relocate. If he does, that’s a good solution, if not, class 1 would be cheaper.
