Why is 56/ 60mph classed as the minimum and not the maximum,especially if your paid by the hour

Turning the key back on the old MANs pre F2000 would cut out the limiter. But it left you without any electrics, lights, indicators etc. Daf 85, pull the fuse out replace with a blown one and off you go, fairly quickly!

Now that I’m older and wiser I do what it’s meant to do, wether that’s 51 or 56.

Also left the tacho with a nice flat line

Most of them can still be removed easily enough without using a magnet, but for adjusting them you need a laptop and some fake software which is available from China. Failing that you can bribe your local mechanic, remapping company etc. etc.

We used to wire ours to a switch but due to fuel costs the boss just pays to get them increased by a few mph.

Some lorries have 2 limits,one top speed limit set in the ecu,and the other limits the cruise ,this can be increased ,but when driving on the pedal the speed will be limited as normal.

tossco have that. Cruise control sits at no more than 50 but the pedal will take it to 55

then theres some trucks have 3 limits… the ecu limit,the cruie control limit,and,no limit…best bet is to find yourself a truckie friendly version of…yer man with the machine.pop the seal,and a quick tweak,tells the head the tyres are bald and to set the max tolerance accordingly,a quick bung into his hip,repop the seal,and hey presto,your flying at 62,and showing 56 on the trace… happy days, anytime your stopped,your heads ok,your trace is ok,your top speed is ok,no wires,no magnet,no happy button, if your unfortunate enough to get tailed and pulled due to overspeed,then its a quick delayed prohibition and do it again…but …gasp… :smiling_imp: who would do such a thing?

But when you have a none fault accident where a motorbike goes under the front and dies and the police tow your lorry away and vosa look at it you then get fined thousands.
