Say a bloke who had done his “CPC” training voucher wanted to be a benevolent soul
hired a community centre, town hall etc for a few hours and decided to give free, apart from a minimal enterance fee (2 quid to pay for the hire of the venue) the 7 hour module for part of the cpc training, would this be legal.
Would be like Billy Graham screwing the system or does this man have to pay the powers that be a “fee” for all that recieve all his good teachings?
If the idea is to “educate” all us dumb buggers who drive a truck wouldnt this bring us all into the light?
If the idea behind the “CPC” is to stop us all killing kids on zebra crossings, wiping out families by crossing central reservations or god forbid using more bloody diesel and not about making money for another tier of bloody useless buerocrats then lets have it free.If it saves just one childs life then suerly to christ its worth it or am I being a little naive?
What would be great was if the same benevolent soul could do a tour of the UK, hiring out Football Stadia and charging £5 a person to do what you suggest. That benevolent soul would then be set for life I would imagine. 50 sessions a year at a 35,000 average seater stadium would gross £175000 per day and places like Wembley would gross £450000 per day.
There must be key strategic points in the UK where an idea like this would sell out such large venues. The hardest part would be the paperwork but Im sure an easy solution could be found.

Would do it for free my man and give all proceeds to charity.Just to watch the greedy ■■■■■■■■ weep bitter tears.
To me that’s a good idea. I don’t know about upload fees and stuff, but if (!) someone were to do it, I can’t see any objections. Maybe from other DCPC providers, but they could do the same.
Cheers

Don’t you have to certified as an approved trainer to teach the course?
Dont know about them being “certified” it appears the whole of the truck driving fraternity need to be “certified” to swallow the crap these people are feeding them.

These people are only telling you what is legally required of you as a “Professional” driver. Would you hire a plumber to fit a gas fire who hasn’t got gas safe certification??

Would you hire a plumber to fit a gas fire if you already knew how to do it yourself?
OK - seriously. The trainer MUST pay £1.25 per hour per man (£8.75 per man per 7 hour course) to upload the training to the DSA system. Can’t upload it without paying by credit card.
There is also a maximum of 20 people per course and more than 20 cannot be uploaded to the DSA system.
I don’t think it would be much of a venue if £2 per person paid for it.
So as long as your kind trainer doesn’t have more than 20 in the room it wouldn’t be illegal to do it for free. He would need to pay the upload fees (£175 for 20 people). he would also need the appropriate liability insurance (just in case) - but I’m sure he wouldn’t mind paying for that as well. probably professional indemnity insurance as well (just in case). Then there’s the cost of handouts etc.

I already have a venue and I’m open to offers.
Why 20? Where do you people drag all this bullcrap up from? Why dont you go out and do a proper driving job if your all such bloody experts?FFS I know there is a lot of unemployment out there but for christ sake how many more bloody parasites do working folk have to support?
Those that tell other people what to do are mostly better off than you and authority figures who enjoy telling other people and making money out of telling you what to do, and if you dont like like what they say it costs you more money !.

WTF? I simply answered your question with the facts and quoted what the rules say so why is it bullcrap? DSA say Maximum of 20 per course. URTU had 40+ on the course they got arrested for delivering. All the drivers lost the training.
20 attending the course at £1.25 per hour each would be £175.00 payable to the DSA for a 7 hour day or £875.00 for a 5 day course. Nowt I or any trainers can do about that.
I just can’t imagine anyone who has the ‘CPC training voucher’ giving their time up for free especially when getting that ‘voucher’ cost a few thousand quid.
Unfortunately - thanks to the Government and Europe, if you working folk want to continue working in your current capacity - you will have to support the parasites who have the “CPC training voucher”
£175 to upload the details of a class of people and the trainers already forked out hundreds to get his stripes? So basically at £8.75 per person over 5 courses the DSA get £43.75 from each driver just to issue them a card?
Jesus. Money making scheme or what.
Also, if a trainer is charging £70 a person, so taking £1400 for a full class. Take away £175 upload fees and thats £1225 for the venue then the rest into your pocket for a days work?? Surprising more drivers arent jumping on this bandwagon.

Yes but Rob you know its all for your own good!
That the government and a few shysters make a bloody fortune out of somebody who on average earns less than 9 quid an hour is a pure coincidence.
Also if its to "improve " driving standards why doesnt everybody have to do it?
Maybe the “horsey” crew with their shiny Scania horseboxes might have had a bit more political “clout” than a bunch of hairy arsed truck drivers trying to make a living eh!
