Just another

Another day has passed with another bridge strike. So why have there been so many? Is it a case of not understanding where you are going? Just following a voice on the satnav, Or is it just bad judgement with poor knowledge of the restrictions that are out there?

I’d guess simply forgot all about the height of the vehicle in most cases.Combined with a regime which over regulates vehicle lengths at the expense of height.Bearing in mind that trucks legally need an in cab height indicator which isn’t much use if the driver has forgotten that it’s a high vehicle to start with therefore also forgot about using the height indicator. In which case what’s needed is more physical reminders like hanging chains etc put up on the approach to bridges to at least reduce the chances.

It’s probably all motor under the bridge now, I’d have thought.

He should of used West Granton Access

Its DRIVERS not checking their heights…they change trailers which are higher than the previous one, and then dont refer to the first paragraph…bridges are signed well in advance, there is no excuse.
