Double decker bus involved apparently as well.
And so it goes on…
Not a great weekend for Land Rover’s delivery company.
7 “professional drivers” all following too close. Absolutely no excuse. Every single one who hit the vehicle in front is at fault. When will drivers learn that you don’t actually get there any quicker by doing 50mph when your 6ft from the vehicle in front compared to doing 50mph 40ft from the vehicle in front, or 50mph 60ft from the vehicle in front.
I’d love to hear the excuses though because I bet some if not all those drivers have got some kind of ludicrous excuse as to why them going into the back of something else is someone else’s fault and not there’s.
And they all appear to be class 1 drivers, cream of the crop eh

I’m sorry but car drivers bear some responsibility here too. How often do we see cars duck into the braking space lorries leave, usually followed by a dab on the brakes to avoid hitting the vehicle in front.
In my opinion this tailgaiting lorries culture is the lorry drivers trying to defend themselves from cars inappropriately pulling in front of them.
Just to be clear, I’m not excusing either behaviour. Frankly, if everyone just slowed down a tad and learnt to share the roads wed all be happier. Ah well, I can dream cant I.

It’s very easy to judge what happened sitting in a chair at home.
It looks to me like the transporter has the most damage and the truck in front of it. The range rover is actually in the back of the other trailer. It’s just as likely the 5 vehicles in front were stationary and the transporter smacked into the trailer in front and shunted them all into each other. Difficult to see in those photos but most seem to have light damage whereas those 2 have the most damage.
Also add wet ground so longer stopping distances risk of skidding etc.
I’m not defending the actions of the drivers as they all may be as guilty as each other as being plebs but without being there or witnessing it or knowing all the facts it’s a guessing game.
And to label them all as incompetent isn’t really fair when we don’t know.
It could equally of been any of us involved in that for any number of reasons. Or it could just be 7 muppets that should know better.
Either way we will probably never know.

I’m guessing the driver is ok looking it. It’s all over Facebook with the usual calling the driver a screwdriver etc without know what happening. He could have been taking evasive action due to what a car has done, he could have fallen asleep, it could have been something medical amongst other possibilities.Either way, that’s an interesting recovery operation for egertons. They will he stood scratching their heads for a while I think at that one.
Apparently he was side swiped by another truck !
Deffo got a missing mirror on drivers side can’t tell about the nearside. So would indicate a collision on one side at least if not both. So could well explain how it ended up where it did. Certainly a little bit of ■■■ may have escaped. I don’t think I’d like getting side swiped by another truck to be honest.

Not “all” Involved hit the vehicle in front, the E.M.Rogers driver didn’t hit a thing in front they ploughed into the back of him.
HTH
I was chatting to my Dad about this and he reckons the cost of the truck and trailer, motorway repairs, and recovery would be in the region of £200k

Considering an average unit costs the best part of 100k new dependant upon make and spec, very easy to cost quite a lot more than 200k.

Looks like one of the new Mercs without mirrors as wellNot out yet. He’s probably smashed them off somehow
You don’t say
Well its glaringly obvious he smashed them off. I was thinking more along the lines of how the hell he managed it from there
If it’s anything like the Actros I had yesterday, I was tempted to do the same. Horrible bit of kit

Given the choice of an SK or an Actros, I’d be in the Grossraum 1850.
