The topgun mo that was on trucks and trailers was over 50 and wore leather gloves and sunglasses? My old man is over 50 and he would never use ‘ya’ in his conversation, mind you he would not know where to start on here. Lol
I’m fast approaching 50 but have been known to type “ya”.
MO(Topgun):
Best put the rumour to bed and dissapoint quite a few of ya…the so-called reposessed trls the rumour mongers claim to have seen are being moved to other depots because there"s not enough room at the rugby truckstop for them when we move up there on the 22nd of this month…going to take about a year to totally revamp the place…sorry to upset ya but not going bust just yet…profits will be down but who aint sufferring in this climate so there"s ya answer to the rumour…■■■
Is the second part of your trucks name Elizabeth mo,if so think I saw you the other day,give you credit mate not very often you see a driver with a brush in his hand sweeping out his tri these days(can’t wait to get sat on there ■■■ or in bunk ),old school stuff,if it wasnt but credit to the driv nonetheless.

wouldnt get to excited mate, mo came out last year as ady1. chances are you did see the real mo and not the sad fantasist on here
I would guess they’ve flogged the land at Dirft where they operate from now for development, maybe to T for the new super chill/unity frozen replacement, that’s why they may be moving to rugby truckstop.
Stobarts are here to stay, they have there ups and downs but I think they’re too big now to implode. They still make loads of money & too many firms, T included are reliant on them for a large portion of their transport, they’re basically symbiotic with T now.

Don’t agree,they seem in a bit of disarray to me,to be giving there drivers letters one week telling them there to be made redundant,they will work there notice(1/4/12 weeks) then give them letters a week later telling them there finished that night,don’t bother with uniform,just finish tonight,how can you tell a driver one week he has to work his 12 weeks notice,then a week later finish that night,don’t they know there work situation from week/week,great for the drivers I’d guess,12 weeks pay for s.w.f.a,but not good business,knee jerk reaction too me,things are going on behind the scenes I think,I’m not so sure there as safe as you think,told by one of there lads all he does is dehire tri,s,we will see but I’m not so sure it’s a forgone conclusion they’ll be around in a yrs time,told a while ago they were on about doing away with the transport side of the business,just warehousing,don’t see anywhere the amount of there trucks you did.

That stuff happens because there is a statutory notice period (depending on lengths of service). The don’t HAVE to make you actually work though. The drivers who were told to go home will carry on being paid until their notice is up. many employers prefer to do this because they don’t want disgruntled employees driving round the country talking to their customers.
Just a slight deflection here but anyone who says stobarts could go bust or implode need to really look T the bigger picture. They will never go bust as stobart is several companies under one stobart group banner. They ars all run seperately and would all have to fail at the same time which isnt going to happen. They are owned by an investment company. The investment company will not let certain parts lose money for too long. Some parts like the chilled may get closed and others may be sold off but thats only ever going to preserve the company

Yea I know there’s is a statutory notice period,but to give lads a letter one week telling them they will have to work there notice period,then a week later give them a letter telling them there finished that night and will be paid up the next pay day,wages,redundancy,notice sounds like they don’t know what there doing ,I mean what did they think all those drivers,warehouse staff were going to do for 3/7/12 weeks once they’d dehired all the tris,switched the fridges off,transferred what little work was left elsewhere a week later it dawned on them nobody’s got nothing to do .not the best thought out plan to be honest,
so i wonder if thats anything to do with the 90 staff from newark that have been told today, thats today is your last day at work, you will be payed on friday what we owe you, bye
convoy of 11 lorrys go to widnes yesterday dinner and the 10 go today
and the lights and chiller fans get turned off ,
leaving just a few lorrys and drivers
