Didn’t hear it in any rdc. My source is normally reliable when it comes to this certain firm. Won’t say too much as I don’t want it being locked. The story goes that the financiers have got a bit narked and are pulling the reigns inwho do you work for ovlov jay?
No, but it might be Oja Tiefer.

I think that you mean reins.Talk like this can cause firms to go under taking jobs with them.
rubbish, talk like this wont cause any harm truck drivers by nature often talk crap i thought everyone knew that!
I often wonder where all the drivers that talk crap in the rdc waiting room are and by that i mean do they post on here?
OVLOV JAY:
Not mentioning any names, but did anyone hear a rumour about a rather large firm having 100 trailers repossesed last week? Heard it from a mate who works for a company they work with. If anyone’s heard this rumour, they’ll know who I mean
you would think if 100 trailers had been repossesed from an obvious main player last week a lot of tounges would have been wagging by now,i think news of that would spread like wildfire
We all knew where this thread was going, from the start it was gonna be rumoured to be the big green haulier, personally I think the truth is in the topic name “just a rumour”
I would have thought if 100 trailers were involved, then it wont be easy to hide them! based on the assumption that they were liveried, they will stick out wherever they are parked up. I thought that the credit checks would have been sorted out at the order stage? Somebody will come across them sooner or later.
It probably is rdc bs. But I was told they were plain trailers and spread over 5 depots. Also its a case of the finance company refusing to pay, not being unable. There wouldn’t have been problems on a credit check. I never took any of it as gospel, that’s why I didn’t mention a name, just wanted to know if anyone else had heard it, but the lack of knowledge makes me think it was bs now
An article in Motor Transport said that Stobart was ditching it’s fridge fleet? Make of that what you will ? Don’t know how old the mag was, so unsure how reliable information is■■?

Well the green machine are taking agency drivers in masses at Crick. Agency rang me today asking if i’d be interested, 4 on 4 off and good hourly rate, just too far and would cost too much in fuel. There are at least 3 agencies advertising for drivers to go there. Rates vary from £9 p/h to £12 p/h The agency i spoke to need 15 drivers, others looking for 20 drivers…
I don’t know if someone is proud of their mentioned company but I heard this bs about rugby and Carlisle truckstop being new depots? Funny as I thought I heard this last year too??

Some of those jobs are for car transporters. One of our lot has gone there.
Why do they have so many estates like Dirft (“Crick”) that are nowhere near where any drivers actually live?
Best put the rumour to bed and dissapoint quite a few of ya…the so-called reposessed trls the rumour mongers claim to have seen are being moved to other depots because there"s not enough room at the rugby truckstop for them when we move up there on the 22nd of this month…going to take about a year to totally revamp the place…sorry to upset ya but not going bust just yet…profits will be down but who aint sufferring in this climate so there"s ya answer to the rumour…■■■

Loads of people live near Dirft. The population of Rugby for instance.
The reasons that Dirft is where it is:
Next to M1 and on A5
Next to a railway line.
Plenty of open space to build warehouses.
Not near residential area so people won’t complain.

So basically they will be closing the truckstop down then?
Or at the very best massively reducing its capacity if it is to become an operating depot?

How can anyone say they’ve seen trailers being moved to other depots ? Trailers move around, sometimes full, sometimes empty. Who would know if a trailer was moving for repossession ? You see Stobart trailers every day that aren’t being pulled by Stobart units, but by other hauliers.
If they were moving these trailers to other depots then nobody would notice anything different anyway. The point I’m making is that nobody has said they’ve seen them being moved, just that they heard they had been repossessed !
As for the truckstop. If Stobarts have bought it to close it down and use it as a depot then I think it’s a bit disgraceful. That will all come out in the fullness of time I would imagine.
Hi,
