My view through the nearside mirrors…Nuff said.
That ones,s got to be down to poor adjustment I always thought Daf mirrors are ok
Very probably mate - I cant recall having any issues with em before this one. Unfortunately ( ), im one of those lowly, unwashed agency dregs, and as such im allocated a lot of different units from day to day. Might have a tweak with it tomorrow before i`m given something else to drive!
No evidence of tree-based adjustment Muckaway, but something`s obviously amiss here!
Actrosman - totally in sync with your views on atrocious yard/loading bay lighting. There must be one installation team that travels around the country specialising in knacking things up!
Harder than it looks to adjust properly arm needs pushing fwd and mirrors rotating in but to adjust them you have to take the mirror backs of and undo the clamps but try and take the backs of without breaking the lugs is a bit of a git
On CF day cabs, how about making the behind seat storage bins removable so they can be cleaned out? Likewise the door pockets. Also how about an external locker behind the cab for hand tools? We carry secateurs, lump hammers etc in ours and my boss has already broken the seat belt on the 6wheeler by putting tools behind the seat, breaking the winding mechanism. I actually don’t like keeping tools in the cab in case I have a rollover, and end up wearing them.

What about those LITTLE things that they just need to think again about .My one is why do they insist on putting a logo on the streering wheel they must realise we use it to lean on when doing paper work. What’s your minor gripe?
Was it the DAF that had a handy fold out flap in the middle of the steering wheel. Very handy except it was a bit flimsy and often got broken off.
Had these on older renault premiums too. Seemed to be phased out when analogue charts were replaced by digis.
How about one of those push button switches which stays on for a couple of minutes, like you get in the stairways in blocks of flats, for the catwalk light, fitted on the catwalk.
Oh and put the switch for the interior light on the interior light so that you have some chance of finding it in the dark.

I used a penknife to good effect recently after a reversing brush with a tree. There are three lugs and I found it was easier to attack the “outer” edge.
Wasn’t my day, I left my Gerber and the star-drive on the ground.
Deeireland:
A small heated tank of water with a tap to wash your hands.
Some call out mechanics vans have them.
I bought an ex enviroment agency shogun that had one of those fitted to the inside of the tailgate, i took it off with the idea of fitting it to the truck, 3years later its still in the shed !

I fit one to the air deflectors of my trucks. You will probably run into problems with 12v and ideally need a 24v unit. Fitting needs quite a bit of thought. Pros and cons to interior or exterior fitting, bit reluctant to brush teeth with it outside but means you don’t get into the cab with filthy hands better for doing washing up outside.
Have always wanted to look at installing more of a normal style sink inside, probably designed for motorhome or boat, with a much larger separate water tank and heating provided by the engine coolant circuit.
drains down the front wheel arch rather than all over your feet

That’s the same one I seen on mechanics van.
I think this is a great job and should be on all trucks in this day and age.
Do you use it ?
Perfect place for it.
