Anyone remember a company called Jos Millican (Penton) from near Longtown they ran a fleet of around 70 blue ERF’s.
Yes George,I remember Jos. Millican.They ran a lot of timber to Bowaters at Ellesmere Port,they were a regular sight on the M6.For the life of me I can’t remember what wagons they ran-DAFs maybe?
I presume they’ve “pulled t’pin”?

They were taken over by John Millar, but he kept the name, as Milllars were to do more timber/forestry stuff and Jos Millicans ran curtainsiders.
I remember this firm.They used run tree trunks into Bowaters.They had a shunter in Widnes and he had to load three trailers for the night men.I remember talking to him loads.He was a smashing bloke but I can’t remember his name. Used to park up on the old fairground at the back of Burtons Tailors.
