terry tamlyn and j200 jmh enroute to croatia.

do you know if the trip went without a hitch cheers martyn.

hi mart,
i seem to recall j200 getting a new windscreen in germany and terry telling me he saw some terrible sights in the hospitals etc.it was,as i recall still a bloody war zone at the time.i think they were away for nearly 3 weeks.terry also told me it was more stressfull than the trips he used to do to pakistan,as the aid convoy just took forever to get going all the time.
regards andrew.

Evening all, you know this is a super thread, really gets the (remaining) little grey cells going! Andrew, did Joints ever run any Highway Coilers? If I remember correctly South Wales was Highways biggest market for Coil Carriers, Lew Lewis, their rep, was often refered to as the "coil carrier King". He was knocking them out to everybody and anybody! I always rated Highway as a trailer builder, and that underrun bar that rolled from one rear corner to the next was stylish and distinctive, wonder if any survived? Stronger and lighter than the equivelent M&G, or Crane, and Boden Offerings. Ah, now theres an outfit to dream about, Atkinson Borderer, ■■■■■■■ 220, 10speed Fuller, 33ft tandem Highway Coiler, J.H. Peck sheets, Hingley chains and dogs( from sunny Cradley Heath,) a good set of timbers, now where`s my" snap bag" Im going to bed a happy dreamer! (or am I just getting past my sell by date? Cheerio for now.

as my old mate bubbleman would say,“straight out of the box”.two brand new marathons fresh from the paint shop, supplied by fletchers swansea.■■■■■■■ nhc 250 and a 9509 fuller.they didn’t look like this for very long.

Well,I liked my Marathon,1976 reg with the TL12.The brakes were crap for a start but when rectified it was a good tool and earned me some brass. At least it had some power in it,not like those bloody 180 Patricroft powered Atkis,Fodens and ERFs creeeping about…over… :stuck_out_tongue:
Nice pair of motors Andrew, never mind what the Mayor of Kendal says about 'em.They would have made short work of that Shotton job I’ll bet.

The nearest I got to becoming Mayor of Kendal was signing the visitors book in the Mayors parlour, under the signature of Norman Wisdom in the early 90’s!!! Norm told me at the time that he was concerned about the number “scroungers and freeloaders” that were re-locating to the IOM from south Yorkshire when they retired.Lowered the whole tone of the island they did!! Cheers Dennis.

Well,I’m still here, complete with me dodgy money which I haven’t spent yet.I’ve paid me taxes and me rates and boosted the IOM economy by going in t’Queens tonight.Anyroad how can a Sheffielder lower the tone of the IOM when we’ve got all these Lancastrians living in the posh part, namely Onchan.
And I still liked me Marathon yer 'onour.

Anon again.

Would that be Rinteln or somewhere ont’ Th’island that looks like Germany? It would’nt suprise me if you had a pair of Leder hosen in’t wardrobe!! Cheers Dennis.

That’s Rinteln Deutschland Dennis,we don’t have pretty little towns like that on t’IOM,except maybe Laxey and Port Erin. Why don’t you ask 'er indoors if it’s ok for you to come over for a couple of days,t’ferry’s only round t’corner,I’ll show you round,no need for you to bring a car,and tek thi in t’Queens so we could burn some diesel and talk about Scanias and Marathons. :grimacing:

Andrew, sorry to hi’jack your JM thread, all will be back to normal very shortly.
