Hiya TC…As you know i knew him as well as many others,and as every one i had a lot of time for the guy.When i had my accident back in '81,we were running together along with Brian Chapman who was driving a White for Partrans. John (Gentleman John as he was called)was driving his blue Saviem,I was driving my first Daf(W reg)on R&G.I was talking to Brian on the CB,John didn’t have one then,I asked Brian if it was clear after the green& red truck,he said after the green&red truck its clear for miles,I pulled out after green &red<there was another green & red truck,I hit him and jackknifed the carriered off the road down a bank,John & Brian came back(thats what we did in those days).I was there 3days and John stayed with me,Brian came back after tippin in Madrid.After 3days i went with John to Lisbon,Avero &Porto too try and catch up,we got back 3 or 4 days later,My boss Joe Rola already had another truck waiting for me to ship out with…Yes matey had a lot of time for John…RIP…
