Does anyone have any info on the above? If so can you let me know please?
Cheers
Are they a haulage company As i done a search but they don’t come up as a haulage firm
They used to run in and out or Morroco all the time i used to chat with most of them.
He did run a mixture of makes of truck, but i had been told along the grapevine that he had folded and moved all his work to John Mann Esp which was his spanish firm
have you been offered work or just curious? They used to pay reasonably well but would get turned around alot in france
john mann international aka jmi, based in sleaford, do a lot of north african, i believe they have their own trucks but also use subcontractors, uk and foreign, i think.

have you been offered work or just curious
Just curious, have heard some good things and am bored of running to the same places in Belgie and Holland, even Germany would be a welcome change but thats becoming a very rare run

The website can be found Here but am after some info before i call them
A while back i tried to call there numbert on there webstie to get back into doing Morroco but the line was dead, which added to the stories of them shutting shop.
If your are wanting to do north africa and spain then ull do ok with them, but anywhere else im not sure. Its a good number in africa if you can put up with the hassle. ive not seen them going east and when i used to park up with alot of them they never mentioned it.
let me know how you get on with them, and what there rates are like because i would jump on the chance of going over there again
they used to run into our place quite alot.
from what i was told wages ph were not much above the minimum wage you was away from home at months on end and most of the kit was dodgey old ivecos i wouldn’t run to the end of my road.
but if you want the experience and not the cash ,its proberbly the job for you

they did alot of work for courtaulds clothing, loading from morroco to worksop & alfreton then to cleckheaton ,load back to morroco with cloth.and strart all over again and yes money was pitiful.
Slappers are cheap in Morocco though!
i used to load there trucks with cloth and spoke to a number of the drivers and from what i gather the money is poor !!
if you have to carry the rolls of cloth there heavy 60 to 100+ lbs if its denim.

Your a braver man than me, my guess would be it’s buy one get one free in the STD department
Hey, they’re alright actually!
They stay all night as well, not just bang-and-go.
Aparently…
I did some work through them a few years ago, It was well organised in Morocco, they had their own agents and contacts along with Breda Transport. I met the transport manager who helped me out a lot with agents. This bloke Dave Kite has since left or been relieved of his services
I see many JM trucks of UK origin on the ferries, and they also use many Spanish sub contractors.
I couldnt fault the backup they had, and I did apply to John himself, but at the time they had enough UK drivers
saw a couple of their trucks this trip…didnt look anything special…trailers looked like they needed a lot of tidying up…but then again…so do most uk trucks on international work…now if you look at the foreign hauliers…especially the east europeans…they put us all to shame with their new outfits…i often wondered why british outfits were the scruffiest outfits on the road…why the brit drivers always had no money…and often had to get money from the exporter to pay for the return trip…had to knock the peages in france and italy…in order to get home…running on dodgy permits…forged insurance documents etc…oh they were the days…eh malc !!
Dodgy permits, knocking peages, dont know what you mean Bob
I saw a few rough old trucks on route to Turkey, most of them Brits

When i was setting off (initially on foot) on my round the world trip, Nov. 02 someone here or at Yahoo group UKHauliers kindly put me onto them. Knowing i was headed Cadiz, Gibraltar, Tangier, i cheekily asked for a lift (but with the offer of free driving). They were very approachable and promised, and promised,…& promised.
In the end, walked the mile to my local m/way round-a-bout & hitched it to Portsmouth. Foot pax onto Bilbao ferry, cracking lift with a guy with a 33’ Winnebago motorhome to Seville.
