Been hearing in the news that John Lewis are chartering vessels to bring Xmas products from the Far East to the UK.

Is this actual fact, that they are chartering entire ships or just buying guaranteed space on existing ships?

Ship charter is expensive even at the best of times, especially over that sort of distance.

Desperate times call for desperate measures no doubt, is John Lewis in trouble and just not telling us yet?
