Loaded out of a well-known supermarket RDC earlier, all well and good, cracking on up the road and the phone goes.
It’s our office, letting me know that the health and safety muppet from the large logistics empire that run the RDC has been in touch to complain and tell them that their driver (me) is driving around with his Moffet completely unsecured to the trailer.
Guess the big ■■■■-off hooks with pins over them are just for decoration then?
Had a good laugh with the office about it to be fair, the only thing that annoyed me was that the grassing little excrement felt the need to phone my company to complain about it rather than just pop over and ask me about it.All he had to do was mention it and I’d have gladly shown him how it was secured.Got no time for grasses, especially ones that try to mess with a man’s job, money or family in the process.
Ah,that, feels better now I’ve got that off my chest
If I do an Amazon with one on I have to drop it obviously, but more often than not they look confused about it, then they chock the wheels of this mysterious metal beast
I hate weasley type grasses with a vengeance mate.
However…how do you know he did not see you until you were driving out of his yard, and rang your firm up to prevent an accident rather than drop you in the ■■■■.
I reckon I would maybe have done the same if you had sped off, just to save a bit of ag for yourself your firm, and any following car, if I also thought it insecure.
I once had an episode where the chain snapped on my ‘moffet’ or kooi as we called them, but mine had a 7 foot carpet boom spike set in the back of the trailer, (Brit European Trans) so there was just a bit of damage on the side.
The rival Dutch firm left one of theirs standing on a hump back bridge once.
On the other hand this officious looking 2hat in a suit walked past me in a yard one day, said nothing to me, but rang my lot up to say I wasn’t wearing a hi viz, so if your opinion on how your case came about, I know exactly how you feel towards this bloke.

Was a sideload of recycling on this occasion,it is a laugh watching them get all confused about it when you pull up on a through the doors job though

Based on the phone call,he had ample opportunity to come over and enquire.I agree with your point entirely though,if it had been as I was leaving then I wouldn’t begrudge them getting in touch in the slightest. On this occasion though it was definitely a spineless little weasel.
Fortunately never had an issue with it,although a mate of mine managed to knock over an entire stockpile of bricks with his whilst taking a shortcut through the yard same bloke also got it stuck on a tree stump turning into a site a while later
Large building site (The sort that are knocking up the new Amazon sheds) are fast becoming a nightmare for grasses. I got asked if Id do them a favour and HIAB a skip over out of their way. So I did and Id be buggered I got a phone call later that a complaint was put in because moving the skip wasnt in our RAMS!
No more favours from me anymore!
Maybe try and look at it from a different perspective instead of getting all wound up. He may not have been a grass (I don’t like them either) but someone who knows nothing about lorries or forklift attachments and was concerned if it had come off out on the road it could have caused a serious accident. As rob said he may have just seen you driving out of the yard.
Maybe just a decent bloke who was concerned for others safety.

I had a similar thing leaving our yard a few months ago - the office rang and asked if I was forgetting anything?
Turns out I’d forgotten to put the trailer plate on
