Does any one know of any jobs going any where in the country at the moment , preferably tramping / nights away . Just putting feelers out as at the moment just can’t see our company keeping us all on.
Only about 7 of us and as I was the last in about 3 years ago I fear the worst . Based on south west but for the right job would travel . Very experienced, very reliable , I know it’s quiet ( very ) out there but you never know , oh by the way class 2 , that will narrow the field even more .
Thank you

Travel is part of the job requirement, isn’t it

Just doing a spot of probing for anything Southampton way on boxes but not much doing, unless Maritime is to be considered, bit of a Hobsons in that respect.Chock a block with EE drivers from many of the other firms i’d normally entertain and they’ve even seemingly moved into management increasingly so not looking too hopeful as a mere Englishman ? I checked Stobarts conainer operation that’s apparently up and running, but again maximum EE representation, even the recruiter at Stobs is foreign and can’t even get me a direct number to Southampton for a more detailed perspective assesment.Southampton’s almost a satellite of Krakow these days, dreadful place.
just because you were last in does not mean you will be first out , that was stopped years ago . boss can pick who goes based on various things .
There seems to be a shortage of tramper drivers for “Farm Produce Collections” right now.
outfits like Freshlinc have not been able to keep up with inflation since the lockdown, it seems…
Plenty of work, but for less money than you’d get elsewhere…
Would someone care to comment on the state-of-play with regards to their flagship Spalding depot, or the new produce depots at places like Peterborough and London Gateway?

Just because you were last in doesn’t mean you’ll be first out. They’ll use the opportunity to bin an incompetent driver they’ve been wanting to get shut off for ages or may ask those nearing retirement if they want to take voluntary redundancy.
I think Co Op Andover are still hungry for drivers. There has been some in house training in GXO with class 2 to class 1 if that appealed but may be limited certain locations. No nights out mind.
