Is it me or is there a sudden demand for drivers going over the water.
I,ve been working for sms but they have just gone under. (i think They aint told us). But i got a job within half hour of getting the word. And was offered two other jobs within 12 hrs. Whats going on. ? 
It’s good isn’t it? Just don’t jump too high of joy 'cause you can loose the job as quickly as you got it.

I believe that is the firm to which the OP is referring.
All I will say is that my ex employer Richard, having made a phone call or two today, sent me a text this morning saying “■■■ confirmed gone pop” (■■■ is a medium sized international haulier based in s.e Kent). I have never known him to be wrong about something like this.
For legal reasons I will neither confirm nor deny that this text referred to the firm in question on this thread. 
Is that why a lay-by I went past earlier in Kent had 6 dropped SMS trailers and a Magnum in it?!

Sorry, am not prepared to say, this information is privy to we local yokels until Commercial Motor is published this week. All it is is “Word on the Street”. I can’t prove anything.

Sms aint dead yet they have still got about 30 wagons on the road. But it will be interesting on thursday as thats when we get paid for the month. Nedexco need drivers urgently n taft. Oh and if yer dont mind a green shirt mr stobbie apparently needs continental drivers.

hey johnny, do you know anything about taft international? seen them about but dont know where they go/ im currently working for a company just doing Holland but looking for a change
Taft do airfreight and fridge work but I think they only do Benelux.

Cranleigh’s do Airfreight and were looking for drivers about 3 weeks ago, I know because they offered me a job, which once i’d finished laughing at the wages i turned down…
Worked for cranleigh up until january when finally had enough of there working practices! used to do 5 weeks away and then begrudged a few days off at end of it, final straw being suspended then havin my truck taken off me and made a float driver due to having to take time off with food poisioning ,first time taken off sick in 2 years, this is just one of many incidents that take place within this company, good luck to anyone who works for this shower!
the guys at sms who have been finished and not shunted sideways to another part of the company have got nothing, 1 months wages up in smoke, i was on holiday in santorini when i got the call, so i know its true, and mr marsh aka sms has posted a gang of bully boys on the gate so no one can get to the ■■■■■ this is a multi milionaire who lives in dubai, luckily, some people have very long memories,

Obviosuly not long enough for some as they would have avoided like the plague to start with. Simple of Dubai is well practiced in doing this.
