Job Phenonema?

maybe some one can explain?

After passing my class 2 license and going through the rigmarole of the whole 2 years experience thing i finally managed to land my self an agency job working out of Runcorn (temp to perm or so they say)

I keep an eye on the job situation in my local area via indeed and also the job centre

Im going for my class 1 license next month so this morning thought i would take a look at some local class one jobs.

So off on to the jobsite i go and enter the details (postcode etc)

in honesty its something I have noticed before but not really thought about.

So I live right next to Trafford park there is loads of transport companys there, Wisemans, AK Worthingtons etc etc and some smaller company’s too.

But when i search for work there is never anything (or very rarely) for Trafford park its always places like Widnes Warrington, Runcorn etc etc more towards the Liverpool Warrington way.

For the life of my I cant work out why? For such a large, busy industrial park they appear to have no jobs?

Any ideas, as its annoying the ■■■■ out of me. Ideally a Trafford park job would be great for me!!

A lot of places uses agency on temp to perm basis so you may have to find out what agency your target company uses & do your time till your face fits.

Firms just aren’t taking on though and enjoy the flexibility of dropping agency drivers when it suits.

i understand this to and extent… BUT… There is no agency’s even advertising Trafford Park jobs!

Not all companies want to advertise as it takes time and money, maybe not to place the ad but somebody is having to contact the jobsite and put the advert on and some bigger companies have got rid of a lot of these people to reduce cost.

I’d say just call them and speak with the transport departments and you may be surprised at what work is around and not advertised

The current job I have was not advertised but I started work two days after speaking with someone, not in your area though

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. You haven’t got the licence yet! And when you do get it you can expect to hear the experience thing getting spouted again!
