Sounds like a [zb] reason to take license off you? What if you were working part-time, even just a couple of hours a day. Or you had your own truck u used for horses etc you moved on Saturday afternoons how is that going to affect you while you are awake?
People with sleep apnea get oxygen & masks for when they sleep to alleviate the problem? Or surgery on tonsils/septum or whatever is causing the problem?
I have a deviated septum from when a guy judas’d me and my partner says my breathing is erratic while asleep, yet I drive and my doctors etc know? (I am supposed to be getting it sorted at the local ENT but haven’t got round to it yet)
Rye yep you tell me all I know is the consultant at the hosp said no way am I allowed to keep my hgv , obviously his wrd is final and that was that

good point mickey 1 other prob i guess im going to have 2 tell em at the interview , is the fact that because ive been out of wrk 4 so long , and having no money , is the fact if its monthly pay i havnt gt enough fuel in my car to gt back and forth to wrk , what do you think the chances of them letting me have fuel on account until i get my wage , obviously if i havnt gt any money for fares or fuel then i cant get into wrk , i think although its not going to look good i reckon its best to be upfront ?
Don’t mention that. just borrow a few quid of someone till you get paid

it was only 28 days wrk and wen I ssked would there be a full time job at the end she said no just for the xmas rush , so im not goin to take it and all the hassle of having to get all the new forms 4 housing benefit filled back in after 28 days , so back to the job hunt , plus I really don’t think I would be able to manage to do all the deliverys anyway , ive tried courier wrk in the past and unless I drive like a lunatic which im not prepared 2 do its not poss to deliver the massive amount of parcels they put on you

You’re entitled to get a second opinion from a different consultant. It’s your living after all.

I suffer severe obstructive sleep apnoea. And I have been on cpap for the last 2 years. I informed the dvla and by the time they sent the forms I was receiving treatment.
I wasn’t allowed to drive for a total of 2 weeks. So I suggest you speak to a doctor who knows about the subject.
And for those who don’t know what severe obstructive sleep apnoea is here’s what it is.
it is a condition which causes the airway to collapse during sleep starving yourself of oxygen. The brain recognises this and wakes you up just enough to get you breathing again. I was having 59 episodes an hour, I could sleep 14 hours get out of bed and be back asleep within 20 minutes.
continuous positive airway pressure(cpap) doesn’t give you oxygen from a tank, it takes air from the room and the mask pressurises on your face. You go to sleep and it will detect when you are having an episode and ramp the pressure up to keep your airways open.
There are lots of different types of mask. I wear one that looks like an oxygen mask, it covers my nose and mouth and I sleep with it on every night. To maintain my licences I must average 4 hours a night on the machine. My current average is 7.5 hours a night.
I know of at least 2 drivers that have all the symptoms of sleep apnoea but won’t do anything about it. Stats say 1 in 7 people suffer it, and it will kill you.
if your partner says you snore loudly then suddenly stop and sound like you’re choking that’s a good indication you suffer, along with having a thick neck, night time sweating, constantly tired no matter how much sleep you’ve had.
Getting diagnosed was the best thing that ever happened to me. I’m like a different person. I reckon I must have been suffering at least 11 years before diagnosis as my wife said I’ve always snored.

Interesting read mate, it is a very dangerous condition especially if your under the effects of a respiratory depressant when you go to bed I.e alcohol etc…
Ricardo I would most definitely seek a second, third and forth opinion if need be seems very harsh IMO…
Thank you rye but the person I saw was a specialist at the hosp they had me in for 3 nights under a sleepstudy experiment , they gave me the cpap machine but I just could not get used to it , I found I couldn’t sleep with it over my face it was uncomfortable and claustrophobic I went back to the hosp and they said there is nothing else they can suggest , and as I have no c p c or latest knowledge of the driving hours regs if I did get back my class1 I doubt I would be able to get taken on by a company anyway , sorry 4 sounding negative but that’s how I see it.
I would be quite happy now 2 just drive a van or a 7.5 tonner if there was a company that still used charts , ie older vehicles , I have applied for 3 more jobs today , plant hire counter asst , and 7.5 ton plant delivery driver , and steam cleaner , but im not feelin optimistic , from my exp in the past I never hear anything back or if I do its a rejection e mail .
the job JLS Driver has told me about I am interested in , but im just thinking about the distance to travel ie Ipswich to wickford is 120 miles rnd journey im guessing I will use 100 pounds in diesel a week , so im waying up the pros and cons , it all depends what the wage is I guess , but im assuming it will be around £300 a week , so have to wrk out if its cost effective and doing 600 miles a week in y car ?
I REALLY DO WANT A JOB SO PLEASE IM BEGGING IF ANYONE ON HERE KNOWS A COMPANY THAT WILL EMPLOY ME CLEAN LICENCE NO ACCIDENTS FOR OVER 15 YRS PLEASE PM ME ! I hate living like this no hot water or heating because I cant afford to buy gas and electric …
